Whenever I play Minecraft, It makes me feel like I'm playing a very-dumbed-down first-person version of Dwarf Fortress.
I once tried to replicate my current fortress in Minecraft.
Didn't work.
I'm pissed, I'm trying to build a Craftdwarf's Workshop yet, for reasons unknown, I cannot build it.
Edited:
I have massive quantities of jet and marble, a mason, and the space.
I've never tried, but you might consider collapsing a wall into the river.
It cant be man made anything it will just disassemble. And no natural rock runs above the river.
I just tried to make a little hermit type fortress in Minecraft, was going good, made some rooms, was cutting down trees and making a wall around my entrance with them...
While I was cutting down a tree one of the zombie things came over and killed me. :saddowns:
Hate it when that happens. Have a heart :buddy:
Got a new computer today, Will see how many short retards it can handle
I don't get this game.
Every time I download it, I get confused as hell and nothing happens.
Is there some kind of guide?
Ugh, is there someone you can cheat yourself an anvil without creating a new world and all. I found this perfect spot and I don't want to leave it. I have found ALOT of gold. But it doesn't seem to be worth anything as they are only nuggets. So I can't trade them. Anyone that can help me?
Smelt them into bars, trade to traders for anvil.
This.
Gold walled dwarf rooms here you come.
I played very little dwarf fortress but, you could try make a tunnel with a floodgate and attempt to divert the water away allowing you to create a dam.

Doing this, when I tried to trade with raw nuggets they weight like hell and was only worth 90... I'm making gold bars now and waiting for a caravan.
You can enable gold nuggets in the stone section and make them into "rock crafts" can't you?
I remember I made some of them into doors and statues on one of my earlier fortresses.
I've discovered Poker Face by Lady Gaga goes incredibly well with this.
"Nil Spiralhandle the Strategic Leader of Mastery"
Awesome.![]()
I told my miners to wield obsidian short swords, and they left their picks in my weapon bin, and now they won't mine anymore, how do I make them equip their picks again?
Don't make them soldiers.
Was playing a game last night and this morning which ended pretty quickly.
My hunter died at the start because he broke his legs and couldn't get to the water so he died of thirst and then my herbalist magically drowned on the floor above him that has no way of getting to it. That's the good news, shortly after a wave of 25 or so immigrants came pooring through my borders and because I hadn't finished setting up the farms when my herbalist died they only had enough food to last a few days.
Losing is fun!
Does anyone know if you can make your self an anvil with the "reaction technique" ?, using the smelter to make stuff that it normally doesn't..
Apparently they lost their mining labor. Also I didn't make them soldiers.
If it takes an anvil to make an anvil, where did the first anvil come from?

What's the right height for a nice splattery death?
I'd like to see some of your fortresses made in StoneSense.
I had a fortress but something blocked the food storage so everyone's dying. :saddowns:
Fuck. My fortress collapsed because of seriously retarded dwarfs.
this thread shall not fall. what is an example of hfs,and how would you make a lever operated animal release system?
Where the hell do all the mugs go? I'm having a dude build them and they somehow disappear, are they being put into bins in the Furniture Storage area? And if so, how can I confirm this whilst putting a bin nearby the Workshop.
Useless unless you have dwarven economy.
I'm building them to trade to the Dwarven Caravan in the first year of the game.
oh.
good plan.
How come I try to make a 2 dwarf fort and the game crashes at embark?
I assume you are using the most recent version?
Also, someone should try and make a copy of Orzammar from Dragon Age: Origins![]()
10z would be the best, to ensure regular splattering, but anything between 5 and up has worked, if irregularly.
I have created hell, three endless holes of water spewing from a mountain to a desert, this is where my fort is, the wagon is close to the source if the dwarfs are not quick they won't save the wood and food/seeds the wagon holds.

That wood cutter dwarf is a smart man , he is getting the wood we need for beds.
Oh and yes I am using a tileset so those less gifted can understand it all.
Edited:
Double points there is an assload of exposed iron ore and gold veins. this fort is fucked up already.
Edited:
So far only one bag of spawn made it.
Edited:
Well the wagon flooded, they got enough wood and food to last them the season so maybe they will survive, currently I used tweak to engineer a nice little wagon exposion for them due to the fact they left much beer on it.
Well kaboom it will go!
I just embarked in a pretty good area, and before i can do ANYTHING a racoon comes and steals my woodcutters axe.
:wtc:
Collapsed a pillar of land and it knocked out my minner and a kitten.
Edited:
Always bring two. or get the minners to wrestle the racoon for it.
So... How do you put trade goods into bins (or anything else, for that matter.)
Furthermore, how do you place bins places you want them to be.
