Playing it now. Played it back in beta, and the sense of scale still seems pretty off.
Its an camera engine issue which apparently would be a very big Pain to Fix since its very deep base code in their engine.
The areas need to be big so the Camera can fit.
The TOS Constitution Interior is good though, its one of the smallest, and they've made a 'canon' Defiant class interior which should be coming out in the coming months.
Too bad the engine doesn't support 3d skyboxes. It's very glaring starting right off the bat with those ships outside the window.
I love using that cryo gun from the Breen quests. Also found a 1 hour XP boost in a an anomaly.
is anyone using these keys from Alienware w/o actually need to sign-up for payments ?
Klingon content any good now? was pretty bad at launch.
I still have my unused retail code but am gonna give the alienware offer a go to see if I can get back into it and maybe try a different ship class (was escort before).
haha neat, was able to use the code on my original account because I only ever added the headstart code.
Klingons have gotten some stuff but really it's still pretty bad, thats why when it goes f2p they're making all Klingons start at lvl 21 so the content gap doesn't seem as large.
I've been enjoying the Heavy Cruisers, having 4 phaser banks firing at once with 2 Quantum torpedos firing with emergency power to shields beats anything PVE can throw at you.
I really like some of the non-combat quests like the medical one, or the power rerouting.
I'm loving the Duty Officer system currently being tested on tribble.
Just picked up a sub again, and man am I out of the ballgame. I could use a refreshing course on the basics (as in game mechanics and the new ground combat, not how to move/fire/use menus), but it's hard finding a comprehensive guide about it. Suggestions, anyone?
The Tutorial should give you th most of what you need,

Anybody wanna give a buddy a buddy key so I can try the game?
So how do I claim my NX class? How do I tell if I have the xp boost?
You get them for free in the C-store, or the NX at least.
Anyone wanna explore the galaxy with me?
Edited:
This game is actually really fun.
Sadly my trial ran out today. Got to Commander 5.
Any idea when this will go F2P and will there be microtransactions?
Somewhere Nov-Decemebr I think.
And yes, Cashshop is a given. Character slots, respecs, ships etc. are all being sold in the store.
Anyone got some techniques to quick levelling? I don't mind team missions at all, but doing 20 solo quests in an MMO does get tedious. Especially if the time VS reward is... rather low.
Yea, play with other people.
Speakin of which we need an FP fleet.
When it goes F2P, is anything more gonna be for cash, or is it staying the way it is.
Ignore Patrol missions, they're boring, take forever and only give 1/4 of the skill points that a Story mission would give you.
We need more FP players.
My trial is going to run out in a day or two, but free2play shouldn't be too much further off.
Talk around Earth Spacedock is that F2P accounts will only get around 25% of game content and have severe restrictions.
I believe there's a list of all the differences between F2P users and subscribers on Cryptic's site for the game.
So its not as bad as I thought.
i would play in wolf-pack :)
What is wolf-pack.
Is that like hunting in packs.
I just bought the collectors edition from game-stop for 12 bucks. Awesome shit, I still have my character from the beta.
I am perfectly aware what a wolf pack is, you can't really do that here.
We aren't submarines.
Well I guess ships with cloaking devices would be pretty equivalent to a submarine.
ofcourse You can do that in space games ;) at least in last 2 decades it was perfectly possible :)
Klingons do it in PVP all the time.
Finally found that one track I really like:

Romulan Battle 3
I wish ships had less weapon banks (Torpedos excluded as they get seperate slot(s)), fired less often and did more damage. I feel like I'm hurling dozens of tiny "needles" when firing, instead of the damaging "spears" like in the show.
I love the tractor beam repulsor.
