My second Star Wars map for Gmod. This time the Pit of Carkoon.

Description:

A small map featuring The Pit of Carkoon from Star Wars.

Features:

- one stationary skiff, one movable skiff and one sail barge with interior
- Sarlacc that kills you slowly over time
- automatic doors
- a bit of walkable desert around the centre and 3d skybox
- npc AI nodes

pretty fun. i did notice that for some reason i can't be killed by jumping into the sarlacc.

There's a trigger hurt in there that kills you slowly, when I last tested it, it still worked. No idea why it shouldn't work for you.

The displacements are a bit funky, stretched textures and all, otherwise it's a faithful reproduction, cheers!

As I said in the WIP thread, there's not much of it.

I've really never seen such amazing displacement work.

Actually, I tried the JKII map, and it wasn't as detailed. The proportions of the sailbarge were kinda wrong, more squarish and the sand wasn't very pretty, otherwize that was a nice map.

I'm currently working on a very large Tatooine city, so you can expect that sometime...

And as for you lord Trilobite, you son of a gun D:! Was gunna do a Sarlaac, but no point in doing it now, so bleh :p

I never saw a Sarlacc preview in your thread, so I figured it wasn't being done yet. So. :D

I may do Geonosis next btw.

ok so apparently i can't die without going into console and manually typing it in. not sure what the problem is, god mode isn't on or anything.

It's not supposed to be an instant death, just a 1 hp drain each second. Maybe you have some funky addon?

I meant anywhere in the map. Like for example, I spawn NPCs all over the map and do gunfights. I take no damage. IDK what kind of addon would it be because none of them give me god mode..

Is it only in the Sarlacc map you can't die? Maybe proximity to the sarlacc makes you...immortal?

yeah it's only on the sarlacc map. doesn't matter where i go on it.

edit: now it seems to happen on any map.

Oh my god, I'm obsessed with the Sarlacc! There used to be an awesome map in JKA like this one, and it could swallow and digest you. Maybe you could somehow take examples from that map.
