I disagree. Not very interesting so far. Seems like the story isn't going anywhere.

So, you didn't watch the last couple of episodes then?
I dunno, I love it.
Especially now that it's back to mind-fucking me.
I think that the alt timeline is a new universe that hasn't fully matured yet. Walter did send a machine back in time far back enough to have both devices in the two universes in season 3 showing the two split at some point in time.
Or the alt timeline is just a dominant reality over the other, where the walter and walterant exist away from eachother on an x plane while the timeline exists on the y axsis.
Still how could walter create the machine if both peter's were dead and what was ghost peter from the begining of the season?
Seems promising is a massive understatement.
Just watched the promo. Oh my!
Into an observer's mind? Is it September? Do we get answers?
OH MY HOLY BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLSSSSSSSSSS SSS
Edited:
Excuse me while I change my pants.
OH FUCK.
FINALLY I WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT GOES ON!
Peter is an observer. September is fucking Peter. Im calling it right now.
The promo at the end, Peter says Who or What are you? September then looks at Peter and looks down a bit, as if inclining he is him.
I love this show and If they are going to end it I want a 2 hour finale!
Unfortunately by the promo you can really see that they are wrapping the show up :(
They are certainly answering a major question - but knowing Fringe I think we will get another batch of questions to ponder over by the end of this episode.
Holy fuck just watched like 5 episodes and caught up, anybody want to explain the last episode with the whole Nina/ Olivia thing I am so confused.
Apparently Nina had been replaced (presumably) with a Shapeshifter before, and now Olivia had just been captured, so we'll probably see a fake Olivia too.
That's going to really mess with peter if it happens.
But I thought Shapeshifters had to kill people to become them? But it looks like Nina is alive?
I have never been so excited about a promo before.
Those were the old shapeshifters.
The new shapeshifters don't have to kill.
Holy shit that was an amazing episode.
It's about time we learned a bit more about the Observers.
Now we know the who, what, and why of them.
really?! crap no spoilers!
It's not that much of a revelation really, it's what I suspected they were.
The real meat of the episode was everything else.
Hot damn that was a nice episode, shame it's on break now. :(
Theory from r/fringe: "Henry was supposed to born to blue/original Olivia and red universe peter . If Henry was born to them, parents from different universes, and to a mother who could walk across universes, then he would also have that ability and might be the next evolved human that maybe the observers originated from?"
Trippy.
why? we're not even two episodes in after their last break here in the uk and they've gone and done it again for three weeks? no wonder why they're losing viewers.
It's on break in the US, not in the UK.
still apply's and we're what? 1 maybe 2 eps behind so we're still affected.
You forgot peter has time traveled.
Awesome episode. Fringe is back on peak - I just hope it's not too late for it to be renewed...
Although I'd also be satisfied with an actual ending that ties up all the loose ends - just so long as it doesn't get cancelled on a cliff-hanger like Flash Foward did.
They use their super-advanced technology to do all that.

it's rumors, but either fringe or alcatraz will survive. Honestly I never cared for alcatraz and it won't bother me to see that island get lost.
I wouldn't miss Alcatraz at all, it's an almost nigh copy of The 4400.
I hope in the end we see the original intended timeline without the observer disturbing Walternate.
Man the other night's episode was amazing.
And now Fox are putting it on another break. No wonder they're losing viewers. If this gets cancelled I will be so angry. One of the best shows on TV at the moment.
It was just normal Walter he disturbed - but yeah that would be a nice ending.
Edit: I'm wrong - it was Walternate.
Not it was Walternate. Walter saw it happening and that's why he crossed over.
Yeah it actually was Walternate - my mistake. I was thinking that the Observer disturbing Walter A was why Universe A's Peter died but Universe B's Peter didn't die. Can anyone remind me why that actually was? Was that explained in Series 2? It's the only one I haven't seen all of. (Currently watching through it but only 3 episodes in.)
Yeah, it's in season 2, episode 16.
What happened was Walter's Peter had already died, and he was watching Walternate through his cross-universal window thing. Walternate had made something that would have worked to cure Peter, but the Observer distracted him and by the time he looked back, the sign that it would have worked went away and only Walter had seen it. So Walter crossed through to the other side (the vial containing the cure breaking and Nina losing her arm in the process). Because the vial was broken, he then had to take Peter back to his own universe to make the cure again. Walter only didn't bring Peter back to his original universe because his wife didn't want to let Peter go.
Cheers!
three more days until it's free on hulu.
