Production wise, RTL is actually the cleanest and least compressed.
Does anyone have any high resolution images of some (or all) of Metallica's album covers?
Also, if anyone knows where I can get a copy of Demo Magnetic that'd be cool too.
but in the case of RTL being the BEST metallica album, that is fact.
RTL in my opinion is the best Metallica album. You stating it as a fact is wrong though. And You're obviously playing Orion wrong if you haven't been playing it like that. I don't care about your 100 shows. That just means that you've played it wrong 100 times.
Stop thinking that I want to play it exactly the way he played it. No one has ever noticed that MY version is different. Infact, people love it. You know why? 2 chords aren't played. You really can't tell when I have the fuzz on.
And I'll act however I want. fuck your shit. You obviously haven't been playing music very long if you're gonna sit there and fuckin trip me on 2 chords when famous artists out there have butchered songs and still called them worthy covers.
SickJits, smartest most knowledgeable guy on the internet who can't do anything wrong
you can play things differently guys
It's things like this that make me glad I never really got into Metallica that much
Your gonna have to find me first, bud...
Stop arguing, he is obviously a troll so just leave him to play the song wrong and leave it alone. Look at his goddamn ban record, he's an idiot, flaming and trolling all the time.
Covering a song is showing respect for the band that wrote the original and playing it for others to enjoy. Copying someone else is a lack of innovation or a lack of talent in an effort to further yourself.
Going to have to agree with SickJits on this one tbh
When a band covers a song they do it because the like the band and the song, and they want to show that. They do it in their own style, they don't just blatantly copy the original version. I mean, death metal bands cover 70's and 80's rock/metal bands all the time, and the vocals are obviously done differently, but as are the instrumentals.
It's okay, he just wanted to jump on the hate sickjits bandwagon (:q:) and made a post before he thought it out.
If you cover a band, yes you pay respect, but some bands do it to progress themselves, which you said means they are copying and lack talent.
If i cover a song and change everything about it is it still a cover? By that sense using a chord progression that was used in one song is like covering it when you write another?
The bandwagon is pretty large round here, we don't like idiots who shit threads.
I came in the thread to state RTL is the best tallica album
What the fuck are you talking about?
"If i cover a song and change everything about it is it still a cover? By that sense using a chord progression that was used in one song is like covering it when you write another?"
You know what I changed? The intro. By playing the root instead of the root+octave or whatever the fuck it is. And obviously using a same chord progression that's in another song in your own is not covering it since 1. You'd need to match keys 2. You'd need to match vocals 3. You'd need to match melody/tempo 4. You'd need to match tuning
actually 1 and 4 are kind of the same but WHATEVER
Just because you use a chord progression does not mean you are covering/copying unless you blatantly know that you are doing so.
Shut the fuck up, you are wrong.
This is silly. It is still a cover if you change the bass line a little, if you just play it like the original that's copying.
MoP is my favorite album. Battery, Master of Puppets, The Thing That Should Not Be, Welcome Home, Orion and Leper Messiah are all good songs.
Did all of this come from me saying that I pick?
Good god shut up with the arguing, who gives a fuck?
