But why would a laptop charger plug looking thing be on the ceiling?
I do see what you mean though... maybe they were experimenting with gravity too <unfounded speculation>.

To me it looks like a chaotic streetview where a lamp is halfway fallen, a darkish night sky and some cables running through the picture.

Auricon cameras are 16 mm film Single system sound-on-film motion picture cameras

Auricon cameras are notable in that they record sound directly onto the same film as the image is photographed thus eliminating the need for a separate audio recorder.

I've got a feeling we're supposed to turn those images into sound or something.

Which image makes the reference to Auricon cameras? Link? (a FileSmelt link please, since my school blocks most image hosting websites).

Sad fact, the trial download of WaveWarp seems to be dead so I can't test the theory. Anybody know software that can do this?

The image are composed out of sound, not the other way round.

Oh damn! I think you're right. Still it would be interesting to see if my theory produces anything as it could be "auricom" simply to avoid legal difficulties or something?

Doubtful. If they were pointing us that way, they wouldn't play around with one letter like that.

I think that's just the user's name who combined all the ascii pictures he got from the BBS into that composite image, not something actually put in by Valve.

but if I'm wrong, Auricom was the name of a research organization in the Wipeoput series of games.
