Going to only play Arena for a while
Going to only play Arena for a while
Sooo... a troglodyte managed to get into my main stairway, now the walls are smeared with troglodyte blood...
"A pool of troglodyte blood"
And on the refuse pile:
"Troglodyte mutilated corpse"
Pretty good, for a fortress without military...
God dammit... The new version comes out RIGHT AS I GET A FUCKTON OF HOMEWORK!
I will play as soon as possible!
And It reached 119!
Now up to 143!
We're beating the Just Cause 2 thread!
"You have discovered an expansive cavern deep underground." I'm worried now. :ohdear:
Aww shit. I was sneak attacked by a Blind Cave Ogre and he killed all my dwarfs.
Minerals 'n shit are MUCH more common now, just digging out my stockpile room I've found like, 6 veins of gemstones, a vein of limonite and a massive deposit of magnetite
A miner! ...and a potash maker :(
"Stray Dog (Tame) cancels Clean Self: Interrupted by Nightwing"
The last survivor of the ogre attack killed the ogre with the last bit of strength he had. He became a legend right before he died.
RIP Ilral Ostmeng
Any tips on finding the elusive magma?
I apparently live on a location with no depot access, at all.
Umm, a question. What do I have to do to construct a farmplot. In the old version you could just place a farm outside, inside if it had earth. Is it something I have to do before making a farm?
My dwarves got rocked (literally) very early on by a cave-in. I really would have liked to know beforehand that that would happen. :( Maybe it should be gigantic text in the OP, or even in the title of the next thread. Then again, it is surely more "fun" for people to learn about it themselves.
The fucked-up part about it is that the area I dug out sat there just fine with no problems for a long while, but then it just suddenly collapsed when 3 dwarves and a cat decided to go in there to sleep.
All tragedy aside, the cave-in effect was really cool looking.
Holy shit I was screwing around in arena and a Dragon just blew a Giant to hell and back.
I'm sad because the wiki is useless now! I can't even check things from previous versions.
Is miasma not in the game anymore? I've noticed that remains don't create it anymore. Maybe it just takes longer this time.
Well, first fortress has been fucked over by a nightwing, it made me wince a little when I was reading injuries, I had a stoneworker who had both his eyes broken open, I'm guessing he means they got squished while still in his face.
Wait so is the Wiki completely abandoned or will people update it later?
I can't wait to play this.
Wow I just in cased the dragon in lava
Do you have to muddy the floor every time you want to grow plants, or just when you build the plot?
So, to irrigate, you flood your fort?
Also link to steam group?
Oh dear god.
Holy shit, my migrants now are of some use.
I longer get waves of dozens of milkers.
Embarked on a frozen hell of a mountain. No plants (save for some trees) and hardly any wildlife here. Going to have to make a living by trading rock crafts and such. Happily, I've found a bunch of materials for making shiny things with and it is my intention to find coal and get some forge work done. Failing that, the wood outside is going to become charcoal to feed the furnaces.
Failing that, I'll delve deep and see if I can find any fun things to attempt to kill, butcher, and eat. Also, a reliable water source needs to be found.
Edit: oh wow, I just found a mushroom forest underground. Looks like we're in luck, it doesn't seem to be inhabited... plenty of arable farmground here too. Plenty of delicious plump helmets, among other fungi.
Edit2: It has a river too! Double score!
I just got on today, opened firefox, restored my tabs (I always have the DF log in the first tab)
And my mind was blown. Currently genning a world and trying to read the changelog...
God I hope I can remember the button layout.
GAHGHHAHG getting the hang of the new military screen is a bitch
But hey, it's still awesome.
