It's fucking gay, what were they thinking?. Another at least to be great show got trashed, then again, I still blame Chloe.
I blame the crappy "It's bad because it's different to the others" 'fans' who refused to give the show a real chance.
Now we have a cliffhanger that will go nowhere. Damn.
They fight some aliens, almost get blasted, Chloe properly tries to escape to help from the blue aliens, blah blah, not a good cancelled ending.
Stargate is probably going to be a dead franchise for a while now, I cant see any more movies coming out, the whole Stargate has stalled to a stop now given the cancellation of SGU.
Bad move to cancel Atlantis for SGU then, they shouldn't of done that. Could of just finished with many movies of the franchise first. Obviously turned into a melodrama show, and I guess no one got used too it, and I thought sg shows are ones where we all like the characters lol. We never really gonna find out what happens afterwards. Many fan fiction ahead....
In part, I agree. I mean, they claimed they care about Stargate, but they didn't realize this was probably going to be the last pieces of Stargate we would get? And now those last pieces are but shreds. It's a big shame, really.
Definitely not just because of those people, though. I think it's pretty stupid that SyFy's new business plan is taking on around 5 newer shows with absolutely no predictions as to the reception, rather than keeping an entire, amazing franchise with that's been with them for 8 years.
I totally agree with you. SyFy doesn't care about Stargate, or anyone really, so I guess they won't give it more than a three tweet long announcement and some memorial tweets. And one was entirely a list of the crap they're shoving to their viewers! What the hell, you're going to casually say to us, "Oh hi guys, we cancelled your great franchise, here's the ton of shit you can watch instead"? Whoever wrote that really has terrible problems with announcing bad news.
And now that SyFy, with a little help, almost entirely killed Stargate, we'll have no answers to the questions posed not only in SGU, but Atlantis, as well.
This whole thing has got to be some of the most depressing news I've ever read. Not setting aside the fact that most other news doesn't directly affect me.
Oh god damn it SyFy, you you gotta go cancel it right when it's getting good!
It was cancelled?
No.
NO.
Guys, we do get to see the last 10 episodes of season 2, so it's not like they're saying "Fuck you guys, no more SGU AT ALL!"
Still sucks though.
I know, but we don't get to see season 3 or any other seasons that might have been.
They do really wonder why too less people watched the series? Really? The first 8 episodes of Season 1 were boring as fuck, then it became interesting more and more but then they had to make a mid-season break for 4 months - Big mistake. Now they do the same failure again (but at least, the season didn't start boring this time).
Hey, I'm one of those people.
I absolutely love Stargate but considering I got 14+ years(combining SG-1 & Atlantis) of entertainment out of it I can't say I'll miss it since it's over now.
Especially since SG:U was just way too different, though I may try to watch it again if it really got as good as some of you say it has,
I watched the first 3 eps of S1 and it was extremely uninteresting and way too angsty.
People didn't watch it because they kicked it out of it's friday slot and replaced it with wrestling. Also, because SyFy doesn't know how to promote a "space opera" properly.
What the hell. That's what they replaced it with? I would have preferred it when they were the Sci(ence) Fi(ction) channel, rather than just a name that's half pun, half just an interesting name for a tv channel.
The series died for me with the final episode of SG-1.
They are still ending the second Season with a cliffhanger though. Even though we have no idea what the cliffhanger is at the moment, we will never know how it ends either. They better make 100 million fucking movies. Or else.
I'm pretty sure that the current CEO of MGM was the same CEO at fox that cancelled futurama and firefly
If that's true, he needs to be hung, drawn and quartered...
You do know this was SyFy's decision not MGM right? I'm sure MGM would be happy to continue Stargate because they make money off it no matter what, they get all DVD sales, they get money from SyFy for the license to the Stargate name, and they get money off any other channel who shows reruns. So don't get mad at MGM as they did not have much if any say in it.
Which is why MGM should turn around and say fuck you to Syfy and go to a more inteligent company or whatever...
The other day I saw the Stargate movie from 1994. Really was the first time I'd seen much of anything Stargate and I'd have to say it got me quite interested.
Watch SG1. All of it.
Then SGA.
At this rate, maybe not SGU.
Did Bobby Kotick buy SYFY out?
Oh no...
Mallozzi's Blog posted:
Well fuck this shit, I'm out of here.
RIP Stargate.
They properly end it with them going into the wormhole searching planets like at the end of SG-1. Exploring the universe and beyond, though it'll properly be a arupt ending.
And enough time for the Lucian alliance peoples to congreate into the crew.
They end it with a cliffhanger. Just like I have said a million times before.
They will not be recording an alternate ending to make up for the cancelling of Universe. Instead they will keep the cliffhanger ending at the end of the Season just like they did will all the others. It said so on Mallozzi's blog.
Edited:
Seasons 5 to 8 I think it was, right when Earth started making their own ships, advancing in technology etc., and started to really fight the Goa'uld was when I think it was at it's best.
But start at Season 1. It's cool.
Just watched Air Pt.1/Pt.2 on ELEVEN. The new TEN channel.
TEN? The Australian channel? Since when were they airing SGU in Australia? I know they aired the first 4 episodes a while back, and then stopped for no apparent reason, but has it returned?
I thought they did air on Seven, but ELEVEN is actually the new channel TEN.
I'm slightly confused about which channel is which now...
Why do you have a ton of channels named after numbers?
Why do you not?
Because it's simple.
I suspect that the Stargate franchise is over.
Budget problems have even halted production on the SG-1 Direct to DVD movie. I think it's over. :/
You know... it's hard to give the show a real chance when the only episodes they aired over here were the crappy first ones about space teen sex. SyFy is a shitty channel.
