I love how this thread/gamemode gets more activity since it's been dead than it ever got being alive and kicking.

Could be a good idea to release or get it up and running again then.
Exclusive is always better though and hosting isn't cheap.

Hey everyone,
I am quite tired of receiving random friend requests that turn out to just be people wanting to get their hands on the gamemode. I have literally heard every possible scenario for people wanting the code about 10 times over by now, so in an attempt to answer all the FAQ's, and of course, the most popular question of "Can I have the gamemode", here is a FAQ resource:
What was Star Wars Sagas?
It was a gamemode created by me, based upon an almost unrecognizably-modifed codebase called Underdone. The game spanned 6 servers that were all linked, and it was basically a Garry's Mod MMO. At its prime time, there were more than 50 players on at once which made for some awesome times (see Youtube videos). Over its brief run, there were over 20,000 player accounts that had logged in at least once.
Why did the gamemode shut down?
Several reasons; first off, the cost of maintaining six servers in the configuration that they required was proving too costly to manage, and in the entire span of Star Wars Sagas only one person donated. Secondly, I had recently gotten a new job and needed to focus more on my career and had less and less time to make updates. Third, and no doubt partially because of the previously mentioned reason, the player base was steadily declining. Players drilled through all of the game's content, hitting hard-caps on skills and levels I put in place, and thus got bored and stopped playing. I couldn't keep up with the demand for new content, which to many was a turn off to them, but also a turn off to me; it's not very motivating when people constantly badger you to "make more content" or they'll stop playing, especially with those other reasons weighing in on me.
Why won't you release the gamemode?
This gamemode represents literally hundreds upon hundreds (if not thousands) of hours staring at a screen, doing research, creating graphics, writing lore, etc. I put my creative skills to the limit in creating this, and spent many nights falling asleep on my keyboard trying to get new features in and make it better. There is currently (and never has been, to my knowledge) nothing that matches the Star Wars Sagas experience on Garry's Mod, and that is why it still attracts players to this day (years after it stopped).
I will not release the gamemode to anyone because this is my project; I was happy to share the experience with the Garry's Mod community, but at the end of the day only I know where Star Wars Sagas had been, where it stands, and what I wanted to do with it in the future. If I release the gamemode, I lose that power over the Star Wars Sagas and the fun it created for players. And I will be damned if every half-assed Dark RP server holder puts up a copy of Star Wars Sagas with stupid features and derails it (no doubt making boatloads of money in the process) when I've spent so much of my time building it to what it was.
But you aren't ever going to work on it again...
I never said that. At the moment, I am still very busy with real life and don't have the time nor resources to bring Star Wars Sagas back to life. However, the entire reason I am hanging on to my gamemode is so that one day when I do have those things, I can bring it back to life, and most importantly, pick up right where I left off.

So there you all have it. The bottom line is that most people don't appreciate something until it's gone, and as it stands right now, Star Wars Sagas is gone. If it ever comes back, rest assured I will let you all know. I am honored by the amount of interest this gamemode still garners, but I think it's also a sad reminder of just how "lame" the Garry's Mod gamemode community has become.
If you want a good gamemode that is still being developed today, I'd advise you to check out Aftermath by Silverlan. Oh, and if you bitch about having to download a large content pack and put some work in to be able to play that, then Star Wars Sagas wasn't your game anyway.

im playing on a server right now and its a korean server and its game mode is Starwars: Sagas im wondering if you released any code or its fan made because its a really well made version nearly the exact same if it is fan made

well they used all the content from the svn and made everything the same because its pratically the same thing with there own stuff on top
