I love how Zips was right and everyone just went mad.
I fucking hate the Orange Box engine.
1. steam://validate/260 - and wait for Steam to fully download the GCF.
2. Use GCF Scape to extract the cstrike_beta folder to the SourceMods folder (located in the SteamApps folder)
3. In the cstrike_beta folder, open GameInfo.txt
Change the SteamAppID from 260 to 440 (Requires TF2!)
Find the steam.inf file, rename it steam_.inf
Right click the new game in your Steam Library...
click properties. Set Launch Options, add in advanced Security Options: -insecure -secure
How 'bout that weather we're having?
Does the lifetime stats tracking track from when you began playing on the computer it's currently installed on, or from the first day you purchased the game?
this is just a update to the game, not whole new game is it?
Zips only called it a rumor because he was rushed to post the announcement, and the official announcement hadn't been made yet. So in reality, the hype wasn't for a rumor. It was for this.
You guys are just getting blinded by rage.
I wish the C4 explosion caused more environmental damage rather than just a few flame texutres
I wanna feel like I blew something up
Back to playing CSS on other servers than the FPZE one!
No need for loads of programs to play the Beta, I just entered steam://validate/260, it got me the file, then Steam://install/260
I'm happy i manged to bag a copy of beta before they ran out, smells like victory...
Never mind my previous post, didn't work. :sigh:
:( sucks really, alot of people who got the beta dont even play the game.
So did they fix the unnatural accuracy of firing full auto at a target from 3 feet away?
I know... I know, not supposed to hold it down, but come on.... 3 feet away
Ok if you get it through the 'mod' (bypass) method you cant connect to the VAC servers.
I don't see why they do the "Shove your way through and hopefully get the beta chance!".
Why not just select people that are still active from the first days of Steam?
Like me for example. 15th September, 2003. 2 days after Steam launched :argh:
I hate CSS, but I would play this new version just because it might make CSS fun again.
