What an album... although only 4 tracks.. its memorizing. A 12 minute masterpiece that is "Walk on By" and a superb 9 and a half minute song called "Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic". It is what you need.

This is 1969, so its well into the beginning of soul that became glorious in the 70s.

    Bert Jansch's first album.

Think of Nick Drake with vocals, and that's what you have with this album. The lyrics are really strong as well and the guitar playing is absolutely mesmerizing. One of those 60's folk albums that got lost with the breakthrough success of people Bob Dylan, this album was a big influence on Jimmy Page and Neil Young, and probably many others.

Difficult album to describe, post-prog-atmospheric-jazzy ambient metal. It's absolutely beautiful, the only album I've been listening to since I bought it about 4 days ago. Loic Rossetti has quickly become one of my favourite vocalists in music. His voice is powerful, emotive, versatile, unusual and perfect for the songs. I've got my fingers crossed that the next album (this is part 1 of a planned pair) is as good as this one.

This album is a really good example of gojira's best work. It really opens your mind if you listen to it all in one sitting.

After these albums, they really went downhill. Master of Puppets was good, but not near the standard of Kill 'Em All. Kill 'Em All is easily one of my favourite albums of all time.

The Black Keys, Rubber Factory. Fantastic duo. Gritty vocals and guitar licks, and drums.

Andrew Bird, The Mysterious Production of Eggs. Andrew Bird is, simply put, outstanding. Practically a one man band, plays violin, guitar, xylophone, sings, and whistles.

Oysterhead, The Grand Pecking Order. Features Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool, and Stewart Copeland. With a song titled "Army's on Ecstasy" how can you go wrong? Heavy bass riffs, Anastasio's usual enthusiastic guitar riffs, some kicking drums, and some rather eclectic vocals, great album.

Got some bitchin' riffs and some awesome vocals.

Some kickass crowd shoutouts/sing alongs make this awesome for live stuff, and there are some cool breakdowns in there.

I'm seeing these guys when they come to my town in october.

Am I the only one that can't stand incomprehensible screaming?

    Shitty unlistenable screaming:

Screaming used as a form of badassery:

    Edited:

Also, the second song doesn't make any fucking sense at face value, but you can hear the words mostly.

Merriweather Post Pavillion by Animal Collective

Animal Collective is a combination of oddly demented, experimental and at times, simply broken electronic beats topped with beautiful and deep lyrics. While all their albums are amazing, Merriweather Post Pavillion seems to embody everything that makes them good. Not a bad song on the album, it is perfection.

Superb Album, truly a classic...it was in their prime of hard rock and blues style
Damn, I was going to suggest this. I'll give my reasons anyway
Every song on the album is good, while there's also a lot of variety IMO.
