Not really Melodeath, but the thread is slow enough eighter way.
ChthoniC
Taiwaneese Melodic Black Metal!
There is one featuring Ensiferum's Sami Hinkka and Jukka-Pekka Miettinen (ex-Ensiferum)
Blood Stain Child recently released a new album.
This band is ridiculously good if you can stand keyboard driven trance-metal.
The album art says something like "Have we mentioned that we're Japanese today?"
Seriously, I think it's a great album.
Never listened to Blood-Stained child before. Are all their songs like this or just the new album?
The new album. Their first 3 albums are more pure melodeath.
I like both of it :buddy: Cheers
Man, I really thought I would like this band a lot... But after looking at their other stuff, takao seems to be the most melodic song of them all which is disappointing.
And this is amazing.
As I had watched a Deadlock video I found a name in the comments: Heaven Shall Burn.
I thought " What the hell, I'm looking for angry political music anyway so I'll give it a listen."
I don't regret it. As a pacifistic anarcho-socialist activist I know the importance of some angry, rebellious metal to get you in the right mindset for protests, and this German anti-fascist and animal rights melodic death metal/metalcore band fitted the bill.
Herr Sven posted:Herr Sven posted:No surprise there. That is Deadlock's signature in the scene - their extreme animal rights themes.Herr Sven posted:
That and this song, of course. Listen to it all - it's a real treat around the 4:00 mark.
Ah HSB. I listened to them like non stop for months before. Really really really good band. However I'm not really one for angry rebellious protests. Still amazing.
Hey! Don't forget these guys...
This intro is soooo good! I'm addicted to this band.
Crimson Winds by Dark Tranquility.
Some melodic death metal straight from '93. Pretty unique lyrics in my opinion, cause I don't think that I ever heard the same sentence twice during the song. Oh and it's Anders Fridén from In Flames in the vocals.
Has Eucharist been posted yet?
Time for me to plow through this thread and add every band to my library.
Wow, how isnt this posted yet?
Anyways, 16 days ago Insomnium announced their new album "One For Sorrow"
Let me quote the entire thing for you
INSOMNIUM announce new album release and European headline tour

Album #5 from the mighty Insomnium has been named “One For Sorrow”
Release dates are:
FINLAND October 12th
REST OF EUROPE October 17th

Ville Friman comments on the album title; “The name One for Sorrow comes from a traditional children’s nursery rhyme. There are ten different scenarios in the original rhyme; likewise there are ten different songs and stories on our album. I think “One for Sorrow” truly depicts what this album is all about: bereavement, grief and loss.”
Right after the tour INSOMNIUM will tour Europe. Ville Friman comments: “We are very exited to finally do a headline tour for the first time in our career. This is a really big step for us and we will definitely bring our A-game. The new songs absolutely kill and we can’t wait to play them live! It’s also great to share this opportunity with two great Finnish bands Before the Dawn and Mygrain. Don’t miss the fun and consider your livers warned: hangover unavoidable.”

Nothing in Sweden. Dammit!
I'm sure I posted that. Maybe in a fast moving thread.
Still can't fucking wait.
Fragments of Unbecoming - Dear Floating Water
New album shall be glorious
Heaven Shall Burn is a great band. I freakin love their albums Iconoclast and Deaf to our Prayers. However, I found their most recent album to be kind of a let down. I only really liked the song Return to Sanity, along with the intro and outro to the album.
Their name can be intimidating and is usually always misinterpreted. I've heard so many people call them satanic just because of it, yet they don't even realize what it stands for.
Great song to post by the way, though I still think Counterweight is their best song ever. :D
Didn't they choose it because it was controversial, and not out of any anti-christian mindset?
Took that from HSB's last.fm
I like how it was taken from one of the most blasphemous bands in the world's album, yet it's more a political name instead of anti-religious.
Got in to Mercenary just recently. I definitely like this song the most:
Been a while since I've posted.
Have some German melodeath.
Zero Degree - Tomorrow Dies Today
I was scanning through the whole thread and came across a youtube video of a song by Kiana.
I have to say I like this band a lot. As far as I can tell, they aren't super popular like some other bands, and their music is a bit more simplistic, but that's exactly why I love it. The drums could have been a bit more pronounced but overall it's pretty epic.
It's damn hard to find their album though.
Yep, that was my post. I love Kiana, too.
They're definitely trying to go for a mainstream sound, with the simplistic choruses (both vocally and instrumentally) and the whiny vocals, but they have one of the god-damn thickest tones I have ever heard. Their riffs are simple but chuggy as fuck.
So good.
Peter Tagtgren is great.
His obsession with aliens is borderline unhealthy, though.![]()
I could never get into Hypocrisy.
It just doesn't appeal to me for some reason.
Edited:
Have some Kalmah from me though. I do love these guys.
Funny.
I simply can't get into Kalmah. Or at least anything beyond They Will Return.
Their newest album, 12 Gauge? One of the most bland and, in my opinion, worst, albums I have listened to in recent years.
That being said, let's get some fucking They Will Return in here.
Words of Farewell - Sorae
Would you look at that! Solution .45 has released the video for Lethean Tears!
And it's not what I expected. At all.
Is it possible that Solution .45 has a lower video budget than Scar Symmetry did?
Oh well. It's still miles larger than Meshuggah's video budget.
At the same time, the video seems to fit for me. Maybe it's because the song feels incredibly heartfelt (damn your powerful vocals, Christian!), and the video has that innocent feel to it - mostly because it's just a random collage of the guys having fun.![]()
Best music video I've ever seen though.
It's badassery cannot be matched.
