why would anyone want the blu-ray and the dvd
AND the digital copy
the blu-ray is already a digital copy and better than a dvd

well to be fair i like the digital copy because i can then later put it on my ipod or my samsung tablet but i hate the dvd copy bunch of shit.
Just get a converter and compress the fuck out of it.
how do you do that?
another disc costs them almost nothing to produce but the extra copies (of the same film) make the customer think it's worth more than it actually is, which means more money
Which is why it pisses me off
Handbrake can convert from / to most formats, but not bluray. Use google.
Depending on the movie, I'll get that copy because we don't even have an HDTV in the main room of the house, so stuff like Toy Story 3 can only be done on a DVD. It's nice to have the convenience of a BD in my room and a DVD for my niece in the other room.
Also, just bought the Band of Brothers BD set for my dad for Father's Day. Was $25 after a gift card.
google xilisoft
Handbrake can convert from .m2ts files I'm pretty sure
Use the nightlies, maybe the stable release can't I don't know

I have a couple that aren't on blu-ray.com's list!!! How is this possible!?
Edited:
lol check this review of Black Swan from blu-ray.com
This film disgusted me not only for the subject matter but even more for what it tells us about modern society. That people want to watch such pornographic trash is deeply disappointing. Almost every human value in this film is dredged from the bottom of the pit. Directors make such stuff because it sells but I would never want my children to ever see such perverted junk. There are just so many great films being made, it is deeply worrying anyone would gain pleasure from such a film that panders to the perverted and mentally disjointed.
Looks like someone doesn't know how movies work.
Edited:
Also here's my collection http://www.blu-ray.com/community/col...D&categoryid=7
I only have one blu-ray player in my house and it's in my room where my family members rarely go into to watch a blu-ray movie. The DVD is a nice extra bonus since I could just share it with everyone else who owns a DVD player. The digital copy allows me to watch the movie on my iPod Touch while I'm on the crapper or in transportation.
lol
I didn't like Black Swan all that much though.
black swan was good but it felt like it was missing something, the movie never really came full circle for me
It was a good movie, but I just didn't enjoy it very much.
Well I thought it was good and I enjoyed it. Guess it's a complicated film.
The only good part about black swan is the dancing part. The I fell asleep on the other parts.
For me its boring.
it is anything but boring
but this is a thread about blu rays so lets drop the subject
You should read the IMDB reviews for American Psycho. Great example of why user reviews are absolute shit half the time.
You know what I hate more than crap Blu Ray ports?
Fucking region lock. When I went to the UK and some other places its so hard to resist not buying the cheap Blu Ray movies being sold there, knowing that when I take it back I wont be able to watch it.
Thank god not all movies a locked though.
Why do some Blu-ray movies contain a DVD quality movie?
to sell more
Edited:
Wait do you mean a blu-ray disc with shitty quality or a blu-ray + DVD combi pack?
No not a separate disc but a separate stream.
Edited:
Like this![]()
get a blu-ray drive
suddenly, regions are meaningless
Edited:
those are usually something like picture in picture commentary
I sort of enjoyed it while I was watching it but after thinking it over for a few days I just thought it was absolutely preposterous
Oh man, 28 Days Later does not look so good on Blu-ray I should really read reviews before buying.
it's because it was filmed that way, with a cheap handheld camera. the audio is much better than the dvd though, and the final scene of the movie is in full hd. check it out
![]()
The final scene does look nice. Too bad it's only that part though.
Thanks for the tutorial, Rusty.
Just ripped Inglourious Basterds.
yeah dont listen to appox when he tells you how to rip stuff
he usually posts something different and equally terrible every time you ask
28 Days Later was the first Blu-ray I got. I felt ripped off.
Feels like I can reach out and touch that fabric
HD is amazing. My new computer is going to have a Blu-Ray drive
dont be, like i said that's as good as it's ever going to look and the sound is an improvement at least (as with the entire last scene)
I really like the way Shaun of the Dead looks on Blu-ray. It's so sharp. :buddy:
What program do you guys use for ripping blu-rays?
