did you mean the sixth sense or the fifth element
did you mean the sixth sense or the fifth element
First time I watched The Dark knight in blu-ray I was amazed.
Never had I ever seen anything like it.
You'll have to figure that out by yourself! ;)
No of course i meant The Fifth Element.![]()
I was convinced you meant The Sixth Sense.
Edited:
Both are good movies though.
Was probably the TV and not the PS3 that did it.
Also got the LOTR extended edition bluray set (15 discs and too many hours of bonus features) and black dynamite bluray. I'm really liking blurays even more with my new 2.1 speaker setup (has some cheap, ancient Dell speakers before), the sub woofer is awesome when the Balrog shouts.
The British Film Institute recently did a Black Friday offer where you could get 20 blu rays for £120. That's, I don't know, Less than $200 USD. Absolute bargain. Normally you would pay £400 for 20 of their blu rays. They even threw in a freebie too.
Recently seen BloodSport on BluRay, it looked amazing especially considering the previous DVD version looked so poor.
Well, no, not really.
I'll see a brand new DVD at walmart for 20 bucks and that same movie on Blu-ray for 25-35 bucks.
Got this bad boy last year, it's pretty amazing.
Only thing is the PAL version which I have, is missing Spartacus and Dr. Strangelove. I don't care much for Spartacus but I'll have to get Strangelove separately.
PAL and NTSC do not exist for blu-rays
So I got a Blu Ray drive for Christmas, it wouldn't work because I don't have an HDMI monitor, then it started to work because I guess I was using AnyDVD, but now AnyDVD says its not on so its back to not playing my Blu Rays.
What do I do?
Make sure the drive is plugged in correctly?
Edited:
Also enable AnyDVD HD on the drive in the options?
Its works now, thanks Rusty.
You're shitting me.
Edited:
Oh well, I'll just get Strangelove Separate.
Do you recommend even bothering to buy bluray? For it seems very likely they will be outdated soon anyway.
I don't think it will be outdated soon. 99% of all screens don't even have a resolution higher than 1920x1080.
Edited:
And yes, they are so much better than DVDs
Yeah there's no PAL or NTSC, but they do still have regions (although some are region free).
I have 100 dollars to blow, gonna get the Star Wars blu ray set so I can laugh at the changes that George Lucas made to the films.
But you could buy so many better films for $100
I have at least 150 or 200 films, most which I consider good. I have no idea where to go from now, but I need to see what George Lucas did. Besides, I haven't seen a single Star Wars film besides Episode IV.
You could get the special edition DVDs instead which have the original theatrical releases.
Or you could donate that $100 to charity, better than giving it to Lucas
If you've never seen the other two, don't watch the bluray edits, watch the originals.
i got for christmas: xmen collection, austin powers collection, matrix collection, harry potter part 2, the mummy, space balls, blazzing saddles, and saw 1 and 6 (saw 1 came with saw 6 for some reason). i think got it pretty good on blu-rays this year.
Edited:
blu-ray has just started getting awesome. its not going anywhere for a very long time
Edited:
i cant believe they changed the obi-wans yell thing when the sand people were attacking luke. that was just painful to listen too
...what?
That reminds me, I was in a camera shop the other day and the woman in front of me was buying a camcorder. She refused to buy an HD one because "I don't believe in high density. It's a fad. It'll go out."
ffff I was fuming. HIGH DENSITY!?
And also, "a fad"? That's like saying "computers are just a fad, we'll go back to typewriters eventually."
Bought the Star Wars box set.
I had forgotten just how bad Episode I is. The acting, the writing.
At least the effects are still pretty good.
Edited:
Also bought Donnie Darko (including directors cut)
Love that movie
Just purchased both Dawn of the Dead movies and should be getting them tomorrow.
I hear the 78' version is surprisingly awesome in Blu-Ray.
I just got the Mel brooks blu-ray collection
Was in the mood to watch Alien and Aliens again but remembered I didn't have any copies laying around so I went to BB and picked them up since they're on sale. My god, they're amazing.
Two of my favorite movies of all time!
Just got:
The Devils Double
Avatar
The Dark Knight
The Warriors Way
Lotr extended
I'm about to go out and get the Lord of the Rings Extended Cuts on Blu-Ray. Worth it?
i kind of like this cover (except the tentacles)
its too bad the movie was balls
What's a good obscure film to pick up on Blu-Ray?
The only movie i could think of is the 80s version of The Thing(because of above cover). Don't know about it's picture quality though.
the hd-dvd has better pq
well there will probably be a 30th anniversary edition this year
if that was going to happen, they would have waited for it before doing this

aw dammit
if its not out yet maybe it's a new transfer?
nope. just invest in an hd-dvd drive and get a copy off ebay
