I'm guessing you meant Thunderhead keep, because that's one of the most difficult missions in the game. You can do it with henchmen though it takes some skill and a lot of practice, you need to be able to deal with a lot of enemies fast, check some builds on pvxwiki, as a Necro, you can always MM which is very nice with a big amount of enemies.

Also, you really don't need to have more than one pvp character. Unlike pve character, if a pvp char is deleted, you can always make a new one and design it to be exactly the same in just a few minutes. I really don't get why some people have more than one pvp char.
I just have one slot reserved for a pvp char, and if, say, I want to play a pvp monk, then I just create a monk, and if I then want to play a warrior, I delete the monk and create a warrior, if later on I'd like to play a monk again, there's nothing stopping me from deleting the warrior and creating another monk.
PvP chars can get birthday gifts.

As far as thunderhead keep is concerned, that mission isn't too bad anymore, with the massive henchmen updates and all. Getting the bonus is a bit difficult solo, but it's quite doable.

I've never heard of such a place in the game.
i can't remember exactly what it's called. it's fairly early in the post-searing area, while you're escorting the humans and dwarves and shit through the frozen mountains. i'm level 15 and everyone else is like 10 so nobody wants me on their team :frown:

    Edited:

and i like to have multiple PvP chars because i want to experiment with different builds without losing my 2-1/2 year old pvp warrior (who's still getting birthday gifts)

Beacon's Perch? There's a bitch of a quest you gotta do to get to the next mission, but people are still doing it sometimes. Just check america district 1 around peak times and you could get lucky.

Also I don't get why nobody would want a higher level guy on their team? They usually jump at the chance. You're probably just unlucky. Hell, I could even give you a hand getting to the next mission, if I ever have the time to log back onto guild wars...

If you're a much higher level than what you're supposed to be (and 15 sounds OK to me for that place), you can always just do it with henchs. The henchs may be a bit weaker than most human players, but since you are much stronger, that'll make up for that.

I trust henchmen more than human players.

yeah it works on all weapons afaik. at least 'find their weakness' (that's the guaranteed crit one, right?) does since i used it in jade quarry so much

    Edited:

oh no wait it's go for the eyes that guarantees crits. anyway yeah i used both of them together for a while and they seemed to work on everyone i teamed with.

The important question is why would anyone be attacking with a wand or staff?

My alliance doesn't have that. They usually have the filthiest discussions of a sexual nature in the middle of the night. Rest of the time they're pretty normal. Pretty chill and lax. A good alliance.

So, I just started playing again, got a lvl 10 monk/necromancer, around the yak's bend area. And was wondering if any of you have any guilds that are relatively active :3

Go to guru. They have a recruitment forum. Or go to any major town. You'll get several hits in minutes. It's not like you can't just up and leave a guild if it isn't to your liking.

What's the best thing to do on Guild Wars? Complete the storyline for each expansion?
I've made a few PvP characters on Nightfall and Factions and I can't seem to be useful at all in PvP.

Also, what's the incentive to PvP? You get all the gear you need from the get go.

I think I'll give that a try, I like to wield big weapons, mostly axes so I might give Dervish or warrior a try, maybe even a combination of the two.

Also, no idea why I originally put "Runescape" in my post, I haven't played that game since I was 12 years old and I haven't thought about it in a long time, sub-conscious is a terrible thing.

    Try GuildWiki and PvX wiki
Good stuff there. You should probably play through at least some of the story mode. Through unlocking skills in story, you unlock them in PvP-or you can buy them with faction from winning in PvP.

Try gwpvx.com Guru has builds, but it's a forum primarily, not a build repository.

So Team Fortress 2 wasn't fun in vanilla because you were competing on an even playing field. Guild wars is not a gear based game (well little things like req 7 15 AL shields, and some req 8 equipment can give a slight edge in some situations, but those are the exceptions, not the rule).

Guild wars is based on coming up with a good skill set and then tooling your equipment to fine tune it. The rest of it is tactics. Anymore you can practically faceroll for the majority of builds, but there is a lot in the way of tactics as far as positioning and risk vs reward skills like frenzy. However as mentioned the meta has a lot of builds like bsurge which are basically mash shit on recharge to win unless the people on the other team aren't also terrible.

Thankyou for the suggestions, going to give a meaty warrior build a try!
If anyone has any specific builds they can link to make me the toughest tank there is, please do so! I would appreciate it greatly.

Tanking is not really a mechanic of guild wars. There is no threat system. Anyone can perform the general role of a 'tank' with skills like shield of absorption and protective spirit on them. The only places tanking truly occurs are in clears of elite areas where the tank uses skills to make itself immune to spells and most damage. The two skills that do this are shadow form and obsidian flesh. For general pve you do not need a 'tank'. You could run defy pain on a warrior if you really wanted to, but why would you when you could just destroy stuff with hundred blades or dragon slash spam and let your natural heavy armor negate half the damage for you anyways.

A paragon. Yet another generally worthless hero. I suppose racway will be happy to have this once the 7 hero update finally rolls around, but outside of that this is yet another that nobody will ever use.

The idea of him becoming a leader and hence a paragon is nice, but I would have preferred another necromancer.

He learns to lead and becomes a paragon in terms of lore. It makes sense, but we really didn't need yet another paragon.

A relative of mine bought this for me for christmas, and I was wondering if anybody had any tips or suggestions on what to do. So far I'm playing the first campaign, and I've seen like 2 people this whole time. Do I complete the campaign, or skip right over to PvP, Factions, or Nightfall?

Wait, so you need to make a separate character for each one? Or can one character be used throughout all of them?

You just have to reach a certain point and then you can travel to the other continents. In prophecies it's Lion's Arch, in factions it's Kaineng Center, and in NF it's right before you get to Kourna, when you finish the Istani missions.

And you must own the game you want to travel to, you can't travel to Cantha if you don't have factions.
