So is the movie.
So are the books.
Have you read any of the thread?
Also, if you saw my post a while back, I haven't gotten to see the movie because Eclipse being replayed pushed it out (this was confirmed when I asked the theatre). I plan to buy the books, and gameplay looked solid.
I just finished the books, and they are probably on my list of all time favorites now.
best movie 2010 i want to go see it again
Well if the movie is as good as the rest of the franchise, I just don't have a bad word to say about all this.
It's just that almost every port of stuff like books or video games into movies end in a horrible, steaming and unfaithful pile of shit.
That may be the rule, but this is the exception. In the best way possible.
Doesnt anyone else think that they could do so much more with the story?
When I saw this movie, my friends thought the character of Wallace was actually based off of me. Fucking awesome.
Wallace was a pretty cool guy I'd totally be friends with him
Let's be friends!
Also yeah everyone I know who's seen this movie likes it no exceptions. It's pretty awesome.
Anyone know anything about a DVD release?
They were talking about October earlier in the thread, although don't quote me on that.
October 27th was the date, if I remember right.
The fuck, the movie is coming on DVD before it actually aired here in Europe. Bull-fucking-shit, I tell ya.
I think its sad how it didnt get very much recognition, I mean in the first week of release it only had one 5PM slot per day at the most popular cinema in my city.
Its such a brilliant film, they did a great job at making it feel like a comic book, jumping through the story very fast paced with a lot of action.
Well. Watchmen, Kickass, Scott Pilgrim. I'm starting to love comic book based movies!
When I first heard about it, I wasn't drawn to it.
Saw the trailer, thought it looked interesting.
Read the tagline ("An Epic of Epic Epicness") and started to have reservations.
Realised Edgar Wright hasn't made a bad film yet.
Saw it and thought it was great - I've seen it twice. I thought I might be alienated, not being a part of the hipster subculture, but it doesn't draw on it in the way I thought it would. It's more a parody if anything.
Also, really like the soundtrack - and I wasn't expecting to.
They could have done so much more with the style.
Like all of Edgar's movies, it's a pastiche of the genre: an affectionate parody that wants to point out flaws in what it's pastiching, but still conform mostly to its tropes and idioms.
I just noticed. Gideon's middle name is Gordon...and in the movie and books gets called "G-Man"...WHAT.
I just finished reading the comics. They've depressed me, I want someone like Ramona :frown:.
They're pretty hilarious, too. One of my favourite moments:
I fucking love this film, i went to see it yesterday and its literally my new favourite movie, i also bought the game of the PSN store, and thats pretty fuckin' sweet too. Man, this was the first film ive sat back and just admired it so much in a long time.
Also i might buy the comics, anywhere where you could get the full comics? In physical form?
DVD available to preorder on Amazon! It's way too expensive honestly but I got it anyway! Fuck yeah November 9th!
Didn't get to see it in theaters. This sucks.
Best. Fucking. Movie. Ever.
I seriously regret that Sex Bob-Omb isn't a real band. The music they have in this movie kicks serious ass.
I still haven't seen it yet, I really want to though.
