I just generally dislike full stocks for the fact they aren't adaptable to a changing battlefield.

For instance, you are engaged in a firefight outdoors, holding a defensive line of fire from a corner of a building. You push the enemy team into a nearby two story structure, and move in to pursue. Now, seeing how it's turned into a CQB situation, what are you going to do? Take out your pistol? Fine and all, but the ammo and range capacity has now dropped. If you use your rifle, with a full stock, then your best bet would be to place the stock over your shoulder to fire effectively indoors. Not the most practical solution.
You're overreacting, it doesn't make the gun any longer then a regular M4. Considering I use cranestocks at a full length anyway, it's about all the same to me. It's still a carbine, the full stock does not make it any more difficult to fire in a CQB situation. Where is this "Hold it over your shoulder to fire effectively indoors" thing come from? I've never had to do that, it's not like it's a full length M16 or something.

Hell I have a collapsible stock on my M4 but it doesn't mean I change the length when I go from outside to inside a building. Even when I've used full stock weapons inside rooms I still shoulder it like I would outside. I mean I can use a M14 inside a building and shoot outside the windows just fine (only time I'm allowed to use rifles inside anyways). And most of the time I DO switch to a pistol for CQB. Why would you need range for CQB anyways? I mean you shooting close quarters, 20 yards max, not a hard shot with a pistol.

I'm talking about effectively using it in tight corners (i.e. two story building = stairwell). And I've used that "fire over shoulder technique" at a local field before, due to the fact it was a paintball field, and it had smaller areas to shoot out from. Since it's a full stock, you can't really shorten it to make it easier to turn a corner. If you held a full stock properly, you'd take the corner wider, as opposed to shortening a tactical stock, to where you reduce the area needed to maneuver with the weapon.

I never said a gun with a full stock wasn't a carbine. I just said for me, in my opinion, that they can be harder to use for some people in certain situations.

So ARES is making the M200 now. I'm certain it wasn't because of MW2.

Goddamn, now I wish MW2 had the Tac-50.
The ARES M200 has been around for a while, actually, IIRC.

Also: honestly, using a full stock indoors really isn't that bad. I have a crane stock, mind you, but I've used it full extended inside without issue. That said, my main field actually requires the use of pistols/shotguns to clear buildings, so I don't have a ton of experience clearing that way, but firing out and such, I've done it with the stock full collapsed or fully extended. Haven't noticed a huge difference, and I carry it on the second or third position most of the time. Can't say I understand some of the smaller guys with fullstocks, it just seems too big for them, but that's just me I suppose.

I'd laugh if I actually heard Judge Judy say that, honestly.

But like I said, it's a matter of preference. I find a collapsable stock better than a full stock. If you don't like my opinion, tough shit. It's the internet.

Well, .45 is naturally subsonic anyway so I'd say it'd be pretty damn quiet.

In Metro 2033, it's the AS VAL, the battle-rifle version of the VSS Vintorez.

Personally, I like them better in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. than anything else, because they have the super-amazing bullet dropping, due to being a subsonic 9mm round. Capping some exoskeleton zombies in 2 shots with the thing is amazing.

Good god that gun rocked in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. :iia:
    Little S.T.A.L.K.E.R. story inbound.
I remember the first time I saw it (the Vintorez as I'd never seen one before) I thought WTF!?! this looks a bit odd. I kept a hold of it as it was suppressed as I thought it might come in handy for picking off a bunch of Mercs that were hanging around an building that I was trying to get into. After sneaking up on the building I dug in amongst some rubble, loaded the 'Vin' took aim and hit the fun button. :c00l:
Ten seconds and twenty rounds later, four Mercs lay dead and the other four that were hanging around had no clue that half of their number had died. Five minutes later the rest of the Mercs died in short order without a single round being fired in retaliation. :ninja:
After that I always kept the Vintorez in my gear as it was perfect for quietly dealing with guards, bandits and the irradiated nasties that inhabited The Zone from a distance and if some-thing/one got the drop on me I could fill them/it with 9mm subsonic rounds. :fuckoff:
God damnit! After typing that I want a airsoft Vintorez even more :argh:

I really hope a company picks up on this soon, the amount of people who made their own VSS and As val rifles is increasing. Or at least some sort of conversion kit.

Complete with a few low cap mags.

    Here.

Pretty sure there is a VSS in the hatch of Freedom base, it's on the top right corner (Around where you break in with Duty) You may need a stash location to actually get it though.

I don't know why, but i love the way it looks.
Since seeing it a while back, i've always thought it looked unique.
It's almost got a bulldog type look.
It's short and bulky, but it looks pretty mean.
I think the extended barrel makes it uglier than sin though.

I'm pretty sure that KRISS pictures is the civilian version, so it's not silenced, but has an extended barrel.
    Kind of defeats the purpose.
    It's like the civilian P90.
Sure it's awesome owning a P90, but you defeat the purpose of one when it has a huge barrel on the end.

I got the secret stash in X16. You have to get really lucky and search a soldier in the Yatnar area. Too bad the only PDA you can find form a soldier is from the soldier with the Healing Beril. So it's just luck.

The Kriss still has the advantage of lower felt recoil though. The P90 is more a novelty as the 5.7x28 round is pretty useless to civilians.
