It's not that expensive. More like $400.

No way, GBB M1 would be so much better than electric. It can't shoot full auto anyway so why would you want electric? It would be so much more realistic and awesome to have a semi auto only GBB M1 :allears:

Because I want something I can field, and electric would make it cheaper to produce and field.

Actually electric can be more expensive to produce. There's more parts to them than GBBRs. Only reason why GBBRs tend to cost more is they aren't as mass produced as some AEG models, thus increasing the price per unit.

Anyways, M1 should be a GBBR only. I've had the pleasure of shooting a M1 GBBR 8mm and it was fucking awesome. An AEG version just wouldn't feel right, better off just going for a M14 then. AEG wouldn't have those fun ejecting clips either.

I think the coolest thing yet would be a GBB MG34. Nearly all the MG34s except the Asahi suck or are one time customs built with real cut recievers for retarded high prices.

    A gas blowback support gun?

I don't think that GBB's work well for prolonged sustained fire. Entire gun would be cold as fuck

Well, since it's a support weapon it's not too much of a stretch to use external air. Basically I want an Asahi MG34 that you can actually buy.

It would probably be safer than using an electric with the piston or gears stripping and stuff.

At least this time, you can sort of "overheat" the gun except in reverse with much the same result.

I think it'd be a little more realistic maybe, and you don't really have to worry about gears and shit stripping like L_Dawg said.

That's the problem, it would not be possible to make it work like a regular AEG or GBBR unless the design was modified somehow.
