In beta it was sick, and you could actually level up just by doing the Rifts without touching a quest. Then in the final version they decreased the EXP rifts gave to the point where it was better to leave them be.


I almost started playing this again today, haven't played it since the first month of release. Is it better or barren?

Where the fuck is the free trial option? There is nothing in any of the submenus that offer anything that even remotely looks like a trial.

I go on the main page, click on the trial promo ad thing, it asks if I already have a trion account, which I do, so I sign in, and it just takes me there. Yay run on sentences.

And if it's automatically granted then it's not working because I get a "You are not authorised to play this game" error when I try to sign in.

I played the trial a while back and got my character to around level 20. I recently read that the Shard 'Refuge' I was playing in is now gone. What happens to my character? Will I just have to select another Shard to place my existing character into or what?

Stopper playing after my first 3 months after my 30 days ran out (in fact, I stopped playing about a month before my time finished), and I don't know if I want to sink the £20+ into a subscription again... I stopped playing pretty early because it just wasn't that fun for me, and it seemed the endgame was going to be boring (the mid level instances struck me as amazing though). I couldn't take the broken world events and horrible Rift bugs.

Has it changed for the better?

I ended up resubbing for a month, played for a few hours the other day, the chronicles are a great idea (one/two man dungeons essentially), and a lot of post-50 content and the new Ember Isle "expansion" coming out soon, great time to resub.
