Hello comrades, welcome to glorious Russian gear thread! Here I will post different kit lists that I find, feel free to post any relevant information and I will add it to this post.

There's a few different kit lists you can follow, I'll list a few of the basics.

MVD Spetsnaz: MVD Spetsnaz are somewhat the rangers of the Russian military. Mixing camouflage patterns (pants and top) is quite common. These are the guys that are often confused with infantry and that's how some people get the impression that russian soldiers are poorly funded and quite ragtag.

Weapons: AKM, AKMS, AK74MN, AK74, AKS74, RPK74, SVD Dragunov.
Vests: Pioneer M23, M25 Tarzan, SMERSH, 6sh92,GRAD 2.
Camouflage: Flora, Les (1), Smog (1), GOROD, Tigre, Kamysh, Flectarn.
Winter and Summer Suits: KLMK, Gorka, Sumrak.

VDV and VDV GRU: VDV are the airborne units of the Russian military (though they haven't actually done a combat insertion by plane since WWII) and are actually the most well funded infantry unit. VDV often get the latest equipment (kevlar helmets, bullet proof vests) and are the best trained (aside from Spetsnaz). Essentially, the appearance of modern VDV is the general appearance of a modern Russian soldier, though standard infantry units may still be using the old Ssh68 steel helmet it is going to be phased out. The VDV, equipment wise, usually are equipped with the 6b7 kevlar helmet (which by most Russian airsofters is substituded with an OD PASGT with or without a Flora helmet cover), the loadbearing gear is the 6sh92 or 6sh92-5, and the kevlar vest underneath the 6sh92 is typically the 6b13 (or more commonly, the 6b23). Flora is the standard issue camouflage uniform to the VDV.

The 6sh112 is refered to as the snipers vest cause it's meant for light loadouts but you can configure it to a moderate riflemen loadout

takistan isn't very good though. open and empty deserts aren't half as exciting as big forests and all the towns in chenarus

It's not necessarily more optimized, it's just there's less things to render in a desert than a forest. But yeah, It is slightly more optimized.

Except everyone uses Arrowhead for its NEWERNESS AND SUPPORTEDNESS and because it's just better than vanilla ArmA 2 and then theres the whole COMBINED OPERATIONS thing and then the whole you need OA for the latest ACE and that alot of missions use OA content and for BAF and BAF lite you need OA and for the PMC DLC and PMC LITE youll need oa and so forth
