If there is an able programmer for such things, I will release the source code over to them to port to linux, if such things are even possible. All my code would be is a template to them.
Linux doesn't use the Windows API, or a UI for that matter.

Ubuntu, one of the easiest for general people to use, has a user interface.
Not all Ubuntu servers are accessed via a UI, I access mine through putty, So I don't get a GUI to play with.

I did fix it just now, and tested it, and as it would seem stupid to comment, I must.
If noone downloads the file at least once a month it gets taken down. So that tells me right now about how much interest there is in this. The link got broke because no one actually cared to download it.

If you, or someone else you know, knows of a way to upload a file where it can tell you how many downloads it has recieved, I would be hugely appreciative, even more so if it doesn't have a removal for inactivity.

Now as an act of courtesy, I ask that you provide such a site if you want me to continue updating and adding features to it, with a possible command line set of commands to invoke it via a windows console. If not, then I will continue to work on it privately.
I might be able to add a mirror off http://ewsting.org with a download counter, let me see.

If you do this, I need an efficient way to keep pushing out updates.

Okay, been working on making it more user-friendly. Also working on adding a "download content" option if the user doesn't have Steam installed on the same machine as the SRCDS is (This may or may not require authorizing the user with Steam to allow HLDSUpdateTool to download HL2, Ep1, Ep2 content. Also been trying to mimic the UI of Steam for added value.

Been using v1.50 for a while now.

Only 2 things I can think of to request to be added.

Day of Defeat: Source (to the server setup)
Portal Content (to the Content Extraction)

Added a small extra feature, a basic server launch script generator button. You just set the Server directory as usual, select the game type, and press the button, and it makes a simple batch file for you, in the orangebox folder, called start_server.bat with the following simple code:
    Code:
    srcds.exe -console -game <gametype> -maxplayers 7 +map gm_construct
I think it's a nice touch for people who are really new to server making.

    Edited:

Day of Defeat: Source (to the server setup)
Added into the script generator and the downloader.

    Edited:

    Version 1.80 Public Release:

    Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?z83y7xm3c6o9523

    Changelog:
-Added Generate Script button to automatically generate a script to use to launch the server.
-Fixed some content not properly extracting.
-Added Day of Defeat: Source to the server download list. (and the script generator button functionality)
-Major UI changes, (Hopefully more intuitive usage this time around.)
-A prototype disabled downloader button for giving server operators an option to download content from Valve to add to the server rather than extracting the content from a preexisting Steam client installation.
-Script generator now appends the server type onto the end of the batch script created, for easier identification and organization.
    -Other miscellanious minor changes.

I want to ask the community members who may or may not use my program, what features would you like to see added into the program? The program can currently add content, install /update a server, and can make simple batch server launch scripts; is there anything 'neat?' That someone would like to see added to that toolset?

    To-Do List:
    -Add Portal Content extraction
    -Add Counter-Strike: Source extraction
    -Add Download Content Feature

If anyone can tell me what else they might want added to the program, like a launch server button, or an advanced configuration for the launch script generator, let me know.

How does everyone feel about me investing time into adding command line arguments? These would automate functions such as content extraction / downloading / installing.

I just added a long-time-coming exception handler to errors, so if you dont make a selection to a server type before attempting to generate a launch script or installing a server, it throws an error message up at you, rather than trying to crash the program.

Okay, so assuming there isn't an underlying sarcasm regarding the lack of linux support, and the fact that if you are using this program in Linux, it would be using Wine, which would just obfuscate the entire process; can you give me a template of the script and the file extension it uses? I have a feeling Linux support is going to remain non-existant.

The reason I say this is because of a past post:
Make a linux command line version :3

And because I have no experience with Linux coding/scripting, I can't really do a whole lot there.

Someone may run it on windows and use the generated script over SSH to a linux server.
