Sorry, can someone tell me what you mean by Chambering?
It's basically parrying, if you time it right, you can block a swing with a swing of your own.

I've done that once or twice by accident, now that ya mention it.
I'll need to learn this, since blocking and then attacking afterwards just isn't fast enough.

Chambering will catch people offguard, but if the player is decent and knows it's coming, it's not recommended as they'll easily block it or just start holding their attacks which is the direct counter to chambers except maybe Counter-Chambers.

Once you know chambers are coming though, they're really easy to counter.

Hold your swing or block the same way you attacked.
Yeah this is why I try to estimate the skill of my opponent before trying a chamber.

Whenever you swing at an opponent and they swing at you and either you or him magically don't get hit and you hear a clash of steel sound effect, that's chambering. Your sword hitting the enemies sword. I had no idea it had its own name or that you could do it intentionally with practice.

Not sure what you mean about the UI, but I really recommend Freelancer + Diplomacy if you want to keep the native feel of the game while adding useful features.

For actual mods I recommend Brytenwalda and Europe 1200. Although Europe 1200 isn't finished yet, the 0.15 Beta is pretty good and I recommend at least checking it out. They're ridicously big on keeping the mod realistic to the time, so the Byzantine Empire is called the Roman Empire (gets a little confusing seeings as there is already the Holy Roman Empire) and the map is upside down as for some reason medieval maps had South pointing upwards. Other than that it's great.

For sheer fun I recommend Blood and steel.
It adds in firearms, new units, makes parties much larger, adds starting classes and difficulty setting, makes it a lot easier to get money and throws all sense of realism and balance out the window. It also allows you to get into the late game a lot faster, ie you can start your own kingdom within a few weeks.

That's really one of the most annoying things in warband. Factions should really get permanently defeated if they lose all their territory and suffer a period with no standing armies.

I got Mount & Blade Napoleonic Wars, updated both Mount & Blade Warband/Napoleonic Wars (I don't have it on steam, got it from another digital distribution website) go to join a server, get in everything is fine. But everytime a round starts, I crash to Desktop, no error reports nothing.

I turned down my settings to the lowest (even though my PC can more than handle Mount & Blade), didn't do shit.

I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, downloaded updates and installed it, but I still Crash! This did not happen on normal Mount & Blade, but Napoolenic Wars crashes my game.

    Help?

You'll probably have to look at each individual addition to see all of the changes, though.

I'm running it fine on 4GB RAM, by the way.

    Edited:

oh, there's apparently a bug if you choose the noble option at character creation. Hangs when you're supposed to choose a banner which kinda sucks. Apparently it works fine if you get a banner after character creation through other means, though, so eh. This only applies to the latest warband version, I think.

That computer can run most stuff really well. Your bottleneck is probably the fact that you only have quadcore and that's still pretty damn decent, you can definitely run this mod.

Most often, when I chamber, it's with a musket vs a musket. I rarely chamber with a musket against a sword and so on, and yes, I'm well aware that it needs be in the same direction- and I probably should've included that in the post. I just took it for granted that people would be using muskets 99% of the time.

I need some help guys! The floris mod pack installer (full version, downloaded from ThePirateBay), doesn't work, but not the actual installer, it's my computer or something. What it does is, it launches the process and even creates a window on the little taskbar at the bottom of the screen for a split second but then doesn't do anything afterwards, I launched the task manager and the process IS there and I tried making it high priority to no avail. I need some help on this! I believe the main reason is because it is a large exe file, 1.1 gb exe file. I've had this problem before but I don't remember what solved it. I did restart my computer and did some things in regedit, but that didn't help.

wow fucking it worked RIGHT AFTER I TYPED THIS

OH MOTHERFUCKING UPDATE WHAT THIS BETTER NOT MAKE FLORIS NOT WORKKSADKOD

    1.152 Changelog:

    Common:
    - Bugs related with sounds and music have been fixed. Disable music option now works correctly.
    - Muskets sticking to left hand after reloading bug has been fixed.

    Single player:
    - Several dialog text fixes.
    - Lords now defect even faster when their faction has no centers left.
    - Minor fix on faction AI.

    Multiplayer:
    - Trees with bad physics that caused missiles to pass through them have been fixed.
    - Switching module without closing the application now works.

I was talking about warband where most weapons have 4 directions.

A stab can be chambered with an overhead as can an overhead be chambered with an overhead of your own which is why overheads and stabs are the easiest to chamber but it doesn't work like that with multi directional weapons.

What's missing in waband's multiplayer is a sense of cooperation. At the start of the game, everyone just charges the enemy. There should be some kind of organized groups, formations etc.
The players just don't give a shit.

That's because teamwork requires work, meanwhile, individual skill wins the game more than teamwork unless they actually put in the work to have a good teamwork going on which won't happen because everyone is fucking lazy and they'd better abuse the weird game mechanics and spinning around like fucking circus fighters to win.

I find the Rhodoks are usually very good to join.
