Unfortunately, I live and work in rural Alabama. I cleaned her last night, a lot of the grime is from a single day.

I wash my car, park it in my spot in front of my house and a bird promptly shits on it. Every time.

Actually when I was pulling up today, a bird shit on my spot right before I pulled in.

Haha, it sucks because I have to keep my car parked outside, and it's pollen season.

It's been raining so much this past month and I've been so busy I haven't been able to wash my car for over 3 weeks now. It's starting to become absolutely disgusting. Luckily I clean the interior every week so it's only nasty to look at but not to drive.

I Vacuumed the shit out of my car last weekend. Was pretty damn filthy since I don't think it's ever been cleaned. Hosed down my floor mats and put them on my back deck to dry over night. Except for all the stains and where the rust ate through the floor and stained the carpet in one spot, it's actually pretty clean.

I just vacuum it every week, wipe down the windows on the inside, and clean the dash/steering wheel.

Once it stops raining and I stop having so much work to do, I'll wash and wax the outside. It's been so long.

Ok, putting giant rims on something that can't go off-road in the first place (like an Escalade or Suburban) is one thing, but putting them on a car that can actually go off-road is obscene.

    My M'bishi Galant.
2.0 4G63 SOHC, manual box and leather interior. Needs a SHITLOAD of work doing - the underside/engine bay look nowhere near as good as these (highly airbrushed) pics.

I'm planning on fully restoring/modifying it soon with some tasteful factory add-ons (spoiler, fog lamps, wheel arch trims etc) and 6A12 2.0 V6 MIVEC engine (200hp and a noise to strangle babies for).
Not that there's much wrong with the engine in there, I think it would just be better suited to life as a coffee table than feebly and lethargically lugging a ton and a third of saloon around like a vibrator motor lugging a cruise ship.

SOHC 4G63 in an 8th gen? They only used the SOHC 4G63 until the 6th gen. Sounds to me like you've got a 4G94 on your hands.

Clean car otherwise, I'm a Mitsubishi guy. I just drive Honda because I'm a cheap-slash-broke motherfucker.

In the UK we got lumped with the 4G63 as the base engine for the Galant, presumably because Mitsu had a bunch of them around that they couldn't get rid of anywhere else.
It's smooth as hell for a 4 cylinder but it just isn't powerful enough.

I will be getting a VR4 when I can afford one. I'm just in love with the shape of these cars and wanted to get one sooner.

Even in the UK it should have been a 4G94 as the base model, the 4G63 SOHC was only used in Galants up until '93. They made it until 2000, but it was in only used in the Spacewagon in the UK up to '96, IIRC. The Montero got the SOHC 4G63 in Japan up to 2000.

Show me a pic of your ID plate on the firewall. That's the only way I'll believe that car came with a 4G63.

No shame in having a 4G94, it's a better engine than the SOHC 4G63.

Can't get a pic at the moment because I broke my camera a while ago, but here's a couple of printscreens from the workshop manual.

My car is hardly unique either - there are quite a few of these for sale on eBay and Autotrader.
The engine choices offered in Europe for this car were WILDLY different to anything offered in the U.S. or even Japan. There were only three engines sold in the UK and only one of them was anything like modern - the 4G64 with GDI, and that was pretty craptacular. Even the tiptronic automatic boxes were only 4-speeds.
We did get a limited run of 200 UK-spec VR4s sold here, though.
And I guess it is nice having an iron slab of WRC history under my bonnet, albeit to be turned into a coffee table at a later date.

Nice work, very interesting how the 4G63 SOHC was still used in Europe through the '90s in more than just SUVs.

What are you going to do as far as swapping it out? DOHC head swap or changing the whole thing for a new lump?

    Turbo?

Whatever you do, don't change the color. Black is way too sick on that car.

As mentioned above, new engine - a 6A12 V6 (2.0L) from an FTO.
It may be tiny but it kicks out around 200hp at over 8000rpm.
Certainly not the biggest engine I could fit in it but it gives a great compromise between fuel economy, performance and aural pleasure. Plus it's an engine that was actually sold in the 8G Galant in some East Asian markets, so I'm not really muddying the car's pedigree at all.

And I'm definitely keeping the colour - just going to add a few tasteful OEM add-ons (low spoiler, fog lamp covers, wheel arch trims etc), and a fuckton of underseal.

Only a cone filter on a stock KA24E. Only has 75k on it, so I'm debating on going turbo with it. It's either that, SR, or RB. I'm leaning towards SR though, since it doesn't have butt loads of bottom end torque. Sounds kinda ridiculous, but I'm more of a canyon runner. So I'd rather have a better balance and such.

They don't look that bad, coming from a hardcore muscle person here. Local ads are selling them for 1000-3000 for good condition ones. They dont seem to expensive though I'd probably get a Camaro or dodge stealth over it. There is a turbo'd one for 3000, looks like ass due to poor execution. Super nam's looks awesome I'm comparison to this one though.

How does the Silvia/240 conversion look like ass? Sure the wiring looks all over the place but who cares what under the hood looks like.

Also they go for about the same around me but I'm poor as shit. Everytime I get a little something saved up, it blows up in my fucking face. And now that I'm pretty much starting with NOTHING, since I've lost all of my shit I've worked for except my Civic, my Colt, and the two El Caminos I have no paperwork for now, I'm pretty much just doing whatever.

Can't even open a bank account right now, tried to today so I could get money saved up, had my DL and my Social Security card since they need two forms of ID. They wouldn't take my SSC since it has my old name on it, even with it being the same number and everything. FUCK.

So now I have to apply for a new social security card or get my birth certificate, but by the time I do that I'll be broke and won't be able to open an account.

I wish life would quit stabbing me with the spoon and let me get to my fucking cereal already.

Wow, shit. That dodge is nice. Do want.

    Edited:

Heh, actually, looking through these pics, that Silvia/240SX looks pretty clean.
