Ok, now I really need to learn some arduino programming, that is win.

Also since it draws so little current to begin with, you could use an SMD fuse/breaker. These fuses "blow" then reset after a few seconds instead of just dieing. They are also really small sometimes, but they come in all kinds of flavors. Theres some on this page if you want to try them.

    Edited:

Also, if you've ever had an LCD monitor black screen, backlight and power but nothing shows up, these (like the green one above) are usually the culprit. You can jump them with a small wire strand or get a new one, either works most of the time.

Car stuff: What did I do yesterday? Found Vacuum leaks En mass being most of the cause for the wagons erratic/strange rev issue, I'm thinking it might actually be the MAP sensor. It works, but I think it's dieing.

Funny you should mention this, V3 will be part SMD to get the size down a bit:

    Excellent Idea!

Well technically I am doing an injector swap. But that's not why I pulled the motor.

The CRX won't be getting another motor. It's going in the yard.

Found a set of wheels, buying them fairly soon hopefully.
    They are a set of these, with 205/70/15 tires, for $100;

The tires are too big, but he said they are in good shape, so hopefully I can find a tire place that would be interested in a partial trade.
Also have been painting. I will most likely have to strip the hood down again. I started painting by brush, hoping that the paint would level better than it looked like it was going to, but it didn't. Now I'm using a foam roller.

I bought myself an early birthday present for myself and replaced my CD deck with a Sony MDX-C6500X minidisc deck which is a physical drop-in (and upgrades me to four channel out and external CD changer control). It was a craigslist buy but it seemed okay.
As expected it installed in two minutes flat and works good with the exception that the AM/FM tuner does not work.
Seriously? How the fuck do you kill the tuner on one of these things? I'll try and get my money back, otherwise I'll try replacing the tuner modules between units and hope it's just that.

Maybe they managed to short out the receiver when they installed the antenna cable? Something conductive got shoved in there? AM/FM tuner gets fried, rest of it continues to work.

    Hrm. No refunds accepted. :/
Well the tuner is an IC module called the TUX-020 it seems and according to google there are a few reports of it going bad on its own. There's another TUX-020 in my old CD deck so I'll try swapping them and see if anything changes. If this works, I'll stick Sony car audio gear forever because EVERYTHING would be interchangeable between models, even internal components.

    Dad got a new pickup

Checked it out. Runs great. Tag went out today... Don't know if we'll get a bumper/grille/tailgate and fix it or just sell it. I'd like him to keep it and drive it instead of the beat-ass gold '99 Chevy 1500 he is stuck with. The chevy randomly decides when it wants to not run and is a puny V6, the new Dodge is a 360 -- Laramie model, so it's got all the power shit. Awesome.

Plus my dad is a Dodge guy. He needs another Dodge.

I vote you put the sheet metal on it and keep it. I'm not really a fan of Mopars myself, the past three I've owned have all been steaming heaps of transmission problems and flaking paint, but I've always had a soft spot for that vintage of Ram. Especially in red. If I were to buy a Dodge truck it'd probably be that gen with a 360 and a T-56 behind it.

All the power windows broke on the durango, and then the back two started working again. The front passenger eventually fell inside the door, so we were forced to try and replace it. We bought a whole new motor and track off of ebay for $50 and it didn't take us too long to get it all replaced and working like new. We never got to the drivers window by the time it was sold, though. That made drive-throughs a bitch.

I wish you the best keeping it working, then. The '96 minivan we have is sitting parked because it's got no fourth gear anymore and the tranny fluid is burnt. It's hardly been abused, maintenance records are immaculate, and it only has 160,000 miles. Worst part is that's not the first time it's had transmission problems. It's been Schrodinger's Transmission for six months now, caught between a state of working and broken the entire time.

Fucking ultradrives...I have half a mind to try to stuff an A555 manual down in there, but then I remember how much of a bitch it is to work on that van.

On the bright side, if I remember correctly, your Ram has a close relative of the Torqueflite 727, which is a reliable unit, if slushy.

Fuel line burst on my volvo yesterday when I was about to leave work, had to leave it at my shop overnight. Came back this morning and removed the old line and put a new smaller one(read:bitch to put on). Realized the only ratchet I brought with me was broke and still fixed the problem. After that was fixed it sprang another leak and then I fixed it too. I got gasoline in my hair and I didn't want to smell like gas before my shop opened. So I walked over to ace hardware and washed my hair with hand cleaner in a sink. What a fun day.
