Alright. Now I'm a bit pissed now.
After spending over 800 euro's (1000 dollars) on repairs alone, I can't even drive half a mile with it before I have to shut it down to avoid damage due to overheating. It gets so hot, the cooling tank starts to expel smoke/vapor in noticeable quantities. Mind you, this is with the lid tightly fastened. At the same time, when trying to accelerate, the engine does make more revs (sort of, not the proper revving sound), but the bike itself doesn't actually accelerate.
I've spent almost all of my money on the bike and repairs, and I'm still unable to ride it to the supermarket, which is just under a mile away. I'm so frustrated and disappointed right now. Not at the bike itself, because that's heaps of fun the short times I've been able to drive it. No, It's because I've spend a fortune (for my standards) and anxiously waited around 2 weeks total, only to get a bike back which isn't drivable. Even if it's an easy to fix problem, I can't get the mechanic to fix it until after the weekend which also means I've got to wait again until it's repaired.
It's just a little 50CC Gilera DNA, completely standard and in good shape engine wise. Earlier today, when it was overheating, I've noticed that the cooling liquid was at a low level. So I've replenished it with around 250ML coolant. However, I did not "de-air" the system, nor do I know how to do it. Apparently, there should be a small screw near the cilinder head. Problem is, I don't know what a cilinder looks like and where it's located.
Honestly, I really hope that's the problem. Because it can be a dozen other things causing it, much harder to find and solve.
Quite a weird engine but I'm guessing this is the cylinder.

Should the hot liquid coolant return into the coolant tank at a constant rate or not?

The snow is finally starting to melt. Thinking about selling my GSX600F and getting something a tad newer with all my savings. It needs some overall maintenance which i really don't want to do, got the bike for so cheap, would feel silly spending too much money on it.
Oh, and since it's also got too many KW, don't want no troubles with the police again.

Figured I'd post my bike and what I want to do with it.
Here is it now. Its just a plain white CBR 600 f2. I have three ideas that I want to do. One is add the style design you see on the newer cbr's just in black on the white background. My second idea is to paint the whole bike black and paint the rims a metallic gold. And the third option would be to paint the bike black, gold stripes, gold rims.
Luckily this picture is basically exactly what I'd like.
That bike in the second picture looks sweet. I'd go for that option.
Anyways, an update on the DNA.
Apparently, my radiator was clogged, causing the cilinder to build up an excessive amount of heat. To give you an idea, the cooling water reached 70 degree celcius (160 fahrenheit) after running stationary for 4 minutes. Due to the heat, the piston in the cilinder expanded causing it to graze and ruin the cilinder. The guys at the shop did feel sorry for me, so they gave me a 60 euro discount on the repairs (making it 50 euros including labor fees)
So, new cilinder has been ordered, radiator gets declogged and small fuel pump hiccup fixed. To be honest, the cilinder needed to get renewed pretty soon anyway. It didn't start fluently and it prevented the electric start from working due to reduced compression. Hopefully everything will be dandy after this.

Hey guys. I'm thinking about buying a bike for my dad's birthday (For him, obviously. Ultimate troll if not), and a fine specimen of a bike popped up on CL. It's a 2006 Ducati S2R 1000 with nine miles on it (I wtf'd when I saw '9' on the odo), but for 6.5 grand. Any input?
Well, my moped's fuel gauge does not work, the light switches has no tactility (I have to slowly adjust it to the off position cause I might end up getting the hi or lo lights instead), electric start does not work. I guess these are just first world problems and the biggest problem so far is the clutch does not really hold so if I am in the first or second gear a little twist makes me end up in neutral.
Also, the road tax for my moped is RM2 per year. That's like, US 65 cents.
I've never ridden a dirtbike before, do you feel really planted and confident with knobbly tyres or is it all still a bit suss?

I'd put on some different mirrors anyway. Probably some bar ends.
Amazing looking bikes. Although one thing that has ALWAYS bothered me about it is those rabbit ear looking mirrors. They just don't fit the look of the bike, IMO.
It's still easy to slide around corners with proper, brand new knobbies but I think the riding position of a dirt bike compared to a street bike makes a huge difference to whether you end up finishing the slide on your arse
The fact that you can easily stand up and just let the bike move and slide around underneath you is really helpful. Your mass isn't being thrown about by the bike, you can throw your mass about when you need to and your arms and legs are preventing a lot of shock getting to your head so you're not as disorientated with every big bump or rough terrain.
Definitely saving that one and heading out there very soon.

Been having problems recently, my vespa won start anymore. And this happened 30 mins after I got the electric start working. When I try the electric start the engine revs create a metal clank sound and shuts down. When I use the kick start is revs and nothing happen. We think its a problem in the carburetor cause no gas to flow into the engine. Its an LML vespa by the way.
