They would still have auto driving lessons surely. As there are still auto cars, and 5% of hundreds is still a lot of cars. And manual and auto are different.
No, here with the driving licence you can drive auto and manual.. I don't even think there is any driving school with auto... People are a lot used to manual..

My father has a 1975 auto Mercedes and he drives that and manual cars as well.

By the way I passed my driving exam yesterday. Yay!

I have. He crashed it a week after i saw him though. His reason was "The car started to drive by itself i swear!"
My car that I currently drive is my first car, and it's automatic. Here in Tampa, FL, there are traffic lights everywhere and tons of traffic. It would really be a pain in the butt to keep shifting all of the time. Don't get me wrong, I love manual. The fastest car that I probably will ever drive in my life was a manual (see this thread: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/106...7-Shelby-Cobra). I've had the car for over a year and I have never been in an accident or gotten a traffic ticket.

I don't even think there is a distinction from manual and auto around here.

Although driving manual is generally more fun, autos have one huge advantage, and whenever this happens I'm very glad I happen to drive one.

That lasted for a good hour.

Yes, traffic moved so slow I had more than enough time to pull out my phone and take a picture, and then I was able to complain on Facebook about it

Automatic, semi automatic, manual... you name it.

Manual is so much better for country roads, mountain passes and rallyish stuff though.

I'm doubting the legitimacy of the results.

You would be correct, driving from Geelong to Melbourne in air show traffic. Pretty much took an hour longer than normal, because of the roadworks on the Westgate as well
