I find it amazing that some guy out there has the balls to completely reconstruct minecraft, almost verbatim, and market it as something new. He didn't even try to make it look different!

Will not even glance at it when it's released. There will be no player mods because it's on Xbox Live which removes any incentive to continue playing it. Also the style isn't consistent like MineCrafts. You're in a cube world but you have a realistic looking pick axe? This project is going to crash and burn.

Whoever this person is, he/she is a dick. Using the success of Minecraft to create your own copy is in really poor taste. If he really has the talent to come up with some great unique features he should focus his efforts on modding the original, or perhaps even getting himself a job at Mojang.

But he used a smart plan... He knows mineccraft isnt going to console anytime soon. Maybe he wanted to make it like minecraft but just couldnt use the name?

The only thing good in FortressCraft is the water.

But it's really ugly, Minecraft is nice for the "oldschool" feeling when you play it, FortressCraft is really ugly, the HD textures ruin it.

The creator said himself of course it's like Minecraft and Infiniminer and that Notch said that he had no problems at all with recreations of the game as he'd be happy to inspire people. However I will not buy this as it has a horrific texture pack and I imagine it would be harder to play on Xbox.

Except minecraft only stole the basic idea of infiniminer, and not the entire system. He claims it's like creative mode, but why are there torches, water, pickaxes, and minecarts.

I don't have an Xbox to begin with so I guess my answer would have to be I'm not getting it. Although, even if it were released on other platforms, I wouldn't bother with it because the graphics are ugly in my opinion.

So many people are making obvious minecraft duplicates. It's honestly getting annoying. I mean the reason minecraft is all blocky is because it has really low texture quality, to go for a more old school feel. If you're going to use high quality textures then make the world a little more realistic. Also having the name ____craft is getting old.

I'm not really angry about the copying minecraft thing, but I wouldn't buy it. I hate most minecraft HD texture packs, and that's like an HD texture pack gone wrong, with crappy "HD" models that are terrible anyways and don't fit with the rest of the world. I don't expect you'll be able to change it either.

To me the graphics are perfect... No "to good" no "crappy hd" and no "Woah the pixels are HUGE!"

If you aren't aware, it seems like each "chapter" adds more gameplay. Chapter 1 is apparently supposed to be equivalent to Minecraft Creative. So, you'll be spending roughly 12$ if you actually want to play the full game.

If it wasn't a carbon-copy, I may have given it a little room to explain itself. Despite "Minecraft being a rip-off of Infi-Miner being a rip-off of...", they weren't exact copies of the previous game with update graphics and one tweak.

This is as if I gave Portal an texture-enhancement, tweaked the shaders and particles; and then marketed as a 'revolutionary new game.'

If the guy came out and said "Yes, this is a latent rip-off of Minecraft for the X-Box 360." I'd be fine. Instead, he's really defending it as a unique idea that only 'borrowed' inspiration from Minecraft.

It's an Xbox game, that seems to be the most popular trend with them these days. Of course, Sony isn't innocent either.
