I put an image editor into a sound editor. This is what happened. 17 minutes of audio fuckery. Really interesting results in the second half.

best song ever
Pretty cool experiment.
I love stuff like this.
Edited:
It's interesting how it's repeating the same 'phrase' towards the end.
How did you make this then?
I plan on making an actual track using bits and pieces of this, but for now I am just showing off the potential.

magic
this happenes whenever i edit pictures in photoshop

help
Reminds me of Missingno.
8:33 - 8:50
I for some reason like it, sounds like an actual song.
Do you get different results with different images? If so, that's fucking badass!
Yes, but in this case - I used the whole program.
Edited:
Same here. There are many gems in the chaos.
Oh, you said image "editor". I thought you just put an image in there.
I wonder if it would be possible to translate the sound back into an image... The implications would be huge!
8:52 - Beginning of Darth Vader in high pitch.
This hurts my ears in a good way![]()
I remember this happened with one of my songs once. I was listening to it and suddenly it turned into this scary as fuck jumble of noise.
It was pretty sweet.
at around 12:30, there is a Pacman sound.
Wow, I am surprised I listened to that for the full 17+ minutes
You should hear MS Paint.
Edited:
I did this with my photoshop and it sounds like a vuvuzela near the end.
what? explain? You opened photoshop.exe in a sound editor or what?
Amazingly amazing.
Friggin' awesome, reminds me of the signal from the movie 'Contact'. Half tempted to send a file like this to UFO conspiracy nuts on the internet.
track is currently not available
private settings?
Sounds like high speed internet.
17:25 and out is my favourite part. That bass. Inception-ish.
even got a bass drop at 17:25
So... what was the image?
I believe it was the actual .exe file of photoshop being read.
Remix time.
Can I?

I like that twinkle beat.
Sure. I wish to make my own songs using samples from this, but I lack equipment.
Be sure to credit me.

You are indeed right.
Very interesting,.
I fixed my link. It has a strange melody play throughout it.
Edited:
And a crazy solo.
Pretty sick. It sounds compressed though.
I have many other of these experiments; I am wondering if I should post 'em here, or if i should make separate threads for the.
I often rewrite sensitive documents/mindblowing porn as .mp3 and just swap file extensions to view properly again. I gotta test if it works with actually transcribing the files though, since changing an image to .mp3 via renaming is not listenable.
what programs are being used to do this?
I will make a thread in due time explaining how I did this, and it will include many other tracks too.
experiment with encoding and decoding .txt and .jpg files and let us know how that goes, haha
If you get Goldwave then you can just click and drag whatever you want in it and click OK.
I'm currently listening to Dungeon Keeper II.
hot damn this is GOOD :monocle:
I tried opening Audacity.exe in Audacity.
only lasts for 3 seconds, though.
ok i made something similar and added some things, just for fun:
Sounds like your usual noise-speedcore.
I messed around with this stuff a while back and it only interested me for like a week, but this stuff works like a revers Histogram of the song, it uses the different pixel patters as a sort of waveshape and yes it is reversible, you can turn a song into a picture, I remember a while back, I saw a song that made the face of one of the band members in it, it is interesting and all but idk.
Aphex Twin face:
(skip to 5:27 for the face)
I can't find a link to the program I used, but I know it had an image import and .mp3 or .wav output and also vice versa, but I also remember that it was a big hassle to find. :/
btw, it's called a spectrograph if anyone feels like finding a program
