Probably not seeing as the Ps3 version also uses Steamworks. Sorry but your friend needs his own copy (I'm guessing). Although there's probably split screen on the PS3.

I've already said its possible. However when a release date changes they usually alert retailers. Who knows would be nice but Im sticking with 19th as not to get excited about what ifs.

Its all well and good but we'll have to wait and see. Wouldnt put it past Valve to release early but also wouldnt put it past Valve to pull some prank to get everyone's hopes up.

I know this is a silly question to ask but what does pre-loading exactly do?

I'm not 100% sure but isnt it early access to the game's files or something?

Lets you download the game in full, but won't let you play. That way whenever the game does come out, it just unlocks and lets you play (rather than download AND THEN play on release).

Eh I've never seen them stick it to THAT much of their fanbase at once.

Also it seems like both the developer site and the translated bathy message seem to indicate early release if the pack gets enough sales.

When I pre-loaded L4D2 I just did listen a lot of sounds from its folder before the game was released. I almost did it with Portal 2. I. MUST. RESIST. IT.

I get that but Valve has deals with these retailers, I dont see them doing that.

And the 13 off site chambers listed in that sphere post are the 13 potato games. Which does get me thinking it could be Friday but I just dont know.
