    I hate how Gmod requires so much content. Some people like me are too lazy, forgot, and don't have time to download/buy every source game. Luckily I pirated all the extremely common needed props.

    There you all go. It includes the seahorses and the materials for the missing ones of the l4d2 props if you don't own the game. Also has the soundscape file.

    Nice Job! But half of the Nexus is gone! Could some one please provide me with all the GCF's needed to see this whole map? And give me a link to download them?

    Great work altogether! However, it appears you've still neglected a few things still, as everything from models/hall_suburbs lacks texturing and the .vmf provided seems a little out of date, as it references a nonexistent model for models/mapdetails/deck_1.mdl or whatever it was for one of the houses in the suburbs, with a window replaced with a double-door.

    Oh forgot about the hall shit. Ill fix that soon. The model that is missing just delete it. It was a test model that isn't done yet.

    Sorry for the 40+ day response time, forgot about this thread. I updated the OP with the day/night script I use. To change speed of cycle open console and type daytime_speed XXX 0 is fastest 30-60 is a good setting.

    When ever i try to start up my server with this map, I get an error saying hunk engine owerflow, and then it shuts down before I can do anything. I have these games installed to my server (copy of my .bat file):

    I just downloaded the VMF file you put up for grabs. I'm only seeing the suburban area... This was intentional, right?

    Try clicking on the "toggle cordon state" button. It's the "yellow and black warning" rectangle at the top.

    Really nice job, especially with the day and night cycles.

    Might I request you make the cubemaps really high resolution? That would really make the reflections on cars and windows look fantastic. It's in Map Options I believe.

    Edit: It seems that my garrysmod continually crashes while building cubemaps on evocity (File read error), so maybe my suggestion is unrealistic.

    That is because CS:S is the most commonly used when it comes to textures probably followed by EP2

    But when I use the toybox version, I can connect properly. The problem there is, that there are no non-HL2 doors.

    Do you have any idea?

    Delete version downloaded from toybox and download new one from this topics' 1st post. Toybox version are broken, and Sgt.Sgt can't upload new one.
    Edit: whoops, i was not very patient when reading your post. I'm only know that toybox version is broken (areaportals and non-hl2 doors are missed).

    Sgt.Sgt, can you make so necessary models and textures from ep2 would have been packed in bsp? It sucks to waste 6GB of HDD space for ep2 content...

    Random question... I'm looking at your .vmf and I couldn't help but notice that you have like 8700-something brushes. Did the brush limit get raised or something?

    Also, you have a BP... For one of my maps I made some BP gas station props. If you want to use them, here you are:

    The pumps you have already are pretty good quality compared to mine but mine have BP insignia so it might be worth a look. 0_o Depends on what you're going for.



    Mine was made to mimic the one on the right. Oh and the advertisement changes with each skin. Only 5 are provided, but there is a slot for a 6th if you wanna make your own custom ad.



    Pack also has 2 BP circle logo things and some green trim pieces that go on the corners of their gas stations seen here:

    I am having troubles with the daytime.lua script, the sun goes up and down.. however it doesn't actually become night time.

    well you can use a model as skybox :D.

    IMPORTANT:
    you probably saw that your trees are way to dark this is because they are prop_static entitys and dont change their lighting when the sun is turned on and off.
    You should use prop_dynamics.
    also - You will get way sharper Shadows :D, esp. from the trees.

    And you might want to put some weather effects in there.
    here is an example of weather effects in source, which i made some time ago:

    Those look very nice. I've always wondered why people who make night maps make the nights a pathetic summer evening-dark, instead of a kick-ass, fumble-around-your-own-ass-in-the-dark styled deep dark nights. And why almost no-one gives maps a choice of weather effects to toggle (and mix)...

    Personally, I'd love me a GM_BigCity in the deep night with heavy rain and fog!

    There are no commands there is nothing built into the map.

    Truely sorry if this is bumping and I accept any punishments through this but the script doesn't work on the map. The sun cycles through the sky but the day/night don't cycle.
