i'm pretty sure phx comes with a stair block(and of course we all know gmod has phx by default now)

The tool is contraption-specific, not face-specific, so down will always be the direction each prop was sitting when you first shot something welded to it. Stairs will work just fine.

This is the greatest thing to ever happen to GMod. Even greater than the existence of GMod itself! I can't wait for a release. It will for surely get me back into GMod as my biggest issue was spazz deaths.

Also, the capabilities have always been here (or at least recently, with the new rendering methods from updates not too long ago), its just that randomly, people find some new variable or command, or come up with some new, inventive idea that no one else thought about or didn't know how to do. Like Daimao and his Full Body mod, although that was never released. :saddowns:

2010-2011 have seen incredible addons in Garrysmod, shit we used to think would be downright impossible.
I don't think Garrysmod will die any time soon.
Just so you'll know, I'm GMT-4 and I'll probably release sometime between 7pm and 11pm. I'll try and get constraints working as a last-minute feature, but I might have to scrap it before releasing to keep it stable and then work on it when the mod is already in beta. After that, it's dupes and the new hull system, followed by nesting, and then weapons (especially RPGs). At that point I can settle down and fix little things like player lighting, water rendering (possibly), and try to make more addons work with it. I'm pretty sure that if I can make E2 work in it via function overrides, it will automatically make every other mod work due to the all-encompassing nature. :P
A year or two ago people would say the exact opposite. Nothing really amazing has happened with Gmod in a couple years. This will be the first revolutionary mod in a long time.

I might as well ask here: which of these four things do you guys think is the most important to get done right away? I'll pick one for tomorrow based on responses.
A) Constrained entities being able to transition. Right now, if you fly a helicopter into a gravhull, it isn't absorbed.
B) Gravhull nesting so you can flip while you flip
C) A new hull scanner with support for hydraulic doors
D) Adv Dupe support
I'm pretty sure I can make A or B tomorrow before releasing, but C and D might take a couple days to get right.

I agree with the above post. That would probably make everyone really happy if adv dupe and constrained entities are included as fast as possible.

Damnit, Gmod isn't working for me all of a sudden. It just goes to the loading screen, and then quits without giving me any error message or anything.
Latest update broke GMod.
An engine update broke GMod once again, causing the CrashToDesktop error that you and ALL of us are currently having.
Garry said he is working on it now.

I've been gone from Gmod for months after everything became too cluttered and messy to really enjoy (you need 50 mods to make one addon/gamemode work, bullshit). But this mod, and Cosmos now, both intrigue me enough to return once again and attempt building great ships.
