I'm pretty sure that the G-Man and Herobrine are completely unrelated. It reminded me more of the hallway filled with shadows of people in Nightmare House 2.

Last minute Steam Sale decision making time.

I know this is the Portal 2 megathread, but I figure this is the best place to ask.

Is Portal 2 worth it, or is it going to be a vaguely-unique puzzlish experience, or can I really count on some sexier story and a little bit more fun this time around?

Single player is kind of easy, but still makes you think, looks fantastic, and the story is great. Co-op is harder and has more classic GLaDOS lines. Also Stephen Merchant.

This is the most unstable game I ever bought, and I own Farcry 2.

    Edited:

No, I am serious. I cant even get to the menu. I have tried every fix out there.

I have reinstalled portal 2 and steam twice.

    I have edited registry values

I have disabled/uninstalled virus protection and firewall software

I have run in adminitrator and compatability modes.

I have shut down every non essential windows and otherwise task, and many many more things.

I want to play, but cant.

Latest drivers, and downgraded versions as recommended in a tutorial. Complete uninstall, cleanup of file fragments and reinstall, at that.

What your problem is (maybe) is that your drivers are not supporting the game. Update them. I wish you weren't stupid, so I wouldn't have to deal with people like you

Portal 2 has the exact same graphical requirements as Left 4 Dead 2. If you have trouble running that game (If you own it), maybe you just need to upgrade.

I can run L4D2 without a hitch on medium to high with a consistent 60 fps.

    Edited:

Portal 2 crashes before I even get to the main menu, let alone starting a game.

Always a generic "portal2.exe" hass topped, occaisonally a popup from the system tray about Data Execution Protection. I have turned DEP off with no effect.

Why would you do these things? Editing the registry can easily break stuff, turning off your firewall and antivirus won't do anything good, changing the compatibility modes on a new program is just going to cause issues, and shutting down random tasks can break things.

Yeah, I sort of noticed that...
I saved them as .png but on imgur it shows up as .jpg. I think the way to counter this would be to rename the .jpg to .png, simple as that. Not sure, really. If that doesn't work tell me, I'll upload them to a better source.
