lava moat
lava moat
Bronze colossi can't bite.
Mod them.
Doesn't matter. A curse is randomized, so if someone is cursed and happens to get werebronzecolossus then that's it. It can't infect others, but it sure as hell will transform into one. So "first gen" were-colossi only.
So are werecreatures enemies of base creatures? Would a Werefluffywambler be attacked by regular fluffy wamblers? Can a regular wambler become a wereroc if it should be unlucky enough to be cursed?
That would be hilarious. You're chasing down a horse or something cute, the moon comes up, and it turns into a weredragon on you.
Is there someone who would be willing to help a newbie out? Someone with a lot of patience so I can ask loads of stupid questions.
I'm learning a lot from the video tutorials but sometimes there's something odd and in that case it'd be cool if I could ask someone on steam or something.
Quite liking it so far but I have loads of questions so yeah...
Added you, would be under A_Zombie_Goast.
Fuck that, flood the world with lava.
Burn the whole goddamn map.
I hope Toady fixes some current bugs present at the moment, like clothes, dungeon master, and beekeeping.
I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was after making my extravagant bee-lair only to discover I can't extract anything from them.
You guys have problems with Bee-Keeping? it's been working just fine for me, mead errywhere up in this fortress.
Those elephants.
Those FUCKING elephants.
This is perhaps one of the most enjoyable things you could do in Dwarf Fortress, I highly recommend it.
Hnng, in the near future Toady is gonna add randomized Frankenstein-creatures, with different parts sutured together from corpses.
Would be funny, but I think the were in werewolf comes from the latin vir meaning man.
stop spoiling the fun. i want a weredragon-bunny thing.
Well the word for werewolf in Latin is versipellis, so I believe you're correct.
Half dwarf, half bear and half pig?
Wait shit are there even pigs in DF? I haven't seen any.
Toady says that all the dwarves in your fort can get the were-curse. So it's possible but unlikely, that your entire fort can become filled with all kinds of were-forms on every full moon with no normal dwarves until the full moon is over![]()
Oh I want it to happen!
Just imagine a goblin siege against your military dwarves that suddenly turn into Were-Dwarves and start to slaughter everything.
That's true, but I think Toady is just calling everything transforming werewhatevers to make it easier to understand.
Weredwarves.. so dwarves that turn into.. dwarves on every full moon?
What about dwarves that turn into weredwarves every full moon.
Wereweredwarves.
my new fort has been the best one so far. :buddy:
I feel like I should be scared. :frown:
Yes. They grow so much luscious, booze-soaked hair that it counts as a layer of adamantine armor. The downside is that, at any temperature above 1,000 Urists, the weredwarf explodes spectacularily in a maelstrom of burning hair and plump helmets.
That would be interesting. A merchant caravan enters the friendly dwarf fortress, does it's business, and waits around for a while. Full moon comes up and all the dwarves suddenly turn into werebadgers and tear them apart while the gates still remain sealed.
Can werecreatures transfer the curse to other werecreatures?

There is a list of animals in the raws that will determine what you can transform into, I think.
Devlog
Didn't that work better in the 2D version, though?
Manticore.
My body is ready.
It was simpler in 2D, yes (along with being more available since every location had a magma river.) But now it's just a matter of popping a Volcano +1 z-level from the surface in the 3D version.
Edited:
Could've sworn they already had something like that in Dwarf Fortress, it was something that had the mane of a lion but the face of a man.
Isn't it one of those creatures that don't really exist? Like gryphons and stuff.
Chimaera, I think. So yeah, it may be possible for that to happen.
Shamelessly stolen from some thread.
Dorfs make Rule 34.
MYTH CONFIRMED, THEY HAVE GAINED SENTIENCE.
Begun to know the game more.. then..
My LNP saves are gone.. :saddowns:
Any idea what happened to them?
Before the saves were deleted i noticed swarms of flies in my fort.. is that bad?
Being able to have dwarves sew together various animal parts then giving it life with a bolt of lightning would be fucking awesome. Might not really fit in with the rest of DF though, so probably not.
How am I doing for a first timer? I'm probably messing things up a bit but here's what I have so far:
The first one is the top layer of my fortress, general sleeping/dining/meeting rooms, mason/carpenter/still workshops, farms, food/stone/gems/furniture/wood/refuse/other stuff stockpiles and a trade depot that's under constuction.
The second contains jeweler/craftsdwarf workshops and a finished goods stockpile.
Sorry if I'm clogging up the thread with boring newbie stuff but I don't really have anyone to show or ask questions to. :ohdear:
It's better than most of my fortresses. I'd think you might need a few more fortifications seeing as everything is so close to the entrance, make some walls around it and get a front door, maybe a few dwarven atom smashers too.
