Hey guys!
I remember I loved browsing that thread, reading through all the creepy stories posted by the users. When it vanished, I tried the Creepy Stuff Thread as an alternative for a while, but it just wasn't as entertaining as the Creepy Experiences one.

So yeah, I'm trying to bring this thread back up again, hoping that you'll like this effort. Please post your stories here. Here are some rules:

The stories don't have to be paranormal. Just something that happened to you which crept you out (please don't post stories like "this guy pointed a knife towards me and I was like OH SHIT", those aren't the kind of stories that belong this thread).
No scary pics please. Those belong the Creepy Stuff Thread. If those pics are related to the story you can post them, but please do img_thumb them.
Please try not to post made up stories. Or, if you want to, at least make them sound realistic so that they're still enjoyable.
Please do not argue about these stories being true or not. They're meant as a form of entertainment and not as a report.
I'll quote some stories from older threads to get this started:

By LordLoss - original post
Didn't exactly happen to me, but I was around at the time so whatever.

About 8 years ago after moving into a very old house in the country, we were having some building work done on the attic. The builders we hired were classical no nonsense tough guys, all of them were pretty sorted, and you probably wouldn't want to mess with them. At one point during the contruction, when there were just two of the 5 builders up in the attic, the rest were with me and my dad in the kitchen getting something to drink, we heard a really loud scream and some crashing about from upstairs. As we were going to investigate the two builders came running down the stairs, white as sheets. I've honesly never seen anyone so scared shitless in my entire life. When they calmed down my dad said "Well, you two look like you've seen a ghost or something," laughing it off. They told him that they had indeed actually seen a ghost. They described her as a middleaged woman in victorian style clothing, sat in a rocking chair in the corner of the room.

Of course when we went up to have a look we found nothing, but those two builders quit the job and various strange things have happened in the house ever since. Some of the lights turn themeselves on and off randomly, chairs spin or move, and according to my dad (I've never heard/seen this happen), the doors will open and slam shut, but I reckon that could just be the wind.

Also, my computer at my mums house is haunted, it turns itself on at night

I was...fuck I forget. Me and my uncle were looking for my great-Grandma (god rest her soul )'s apartment in the retirement thingy. We hit up but for some reason the elevator went all the way to the bottom floor. The door opens, into an underground apartment facility. We joke around, yelling out a "Helloooo?". "WHAT?". A fucked up old ladies voice echoes, and we hear something coming. We mash the up button like fucking mad.

Well I get to add my own story now.

Let me set the mood, right now it's raining like shit, and almost tornado like winds outside.

Today, after browsing the internet for a bit, I decided to go pratice some Zippo tricks with the new Zippo I just bought, unfourtantly it was low on oil/gas/whatever. So I looked all over the house to see if my dad possibly had some somewhere, but to no avail. So I decided to quickly run out back and check the shed.

Have you seen Shutter Island? You know the scene where there in the graveyard and have to hide in a tomb because of the storm? Ya, it was almost exactly like that, I grabbed my key and zippo, and ran outside to the shed and hid inside from the storm. Now, it's also pretty dark out because of this storm, so I had to use my new trusty Zippo (Which was low on fuel) to semi-light the shed, as I checked bottles for some new fuel. A very creepy atomsphere with only a flame for light and a storm outside. Unfourtantly I didn't find any.

So I get grab the shed key from where I put it down, and take a step towards the door when BOOM it slams open on it's own (From the storm obv, not saying thats a ghost or something). It made me jump, but didn't really scare me. I went to leave when I saw that the storm had picked up a lot in the minute I was out here, and I decided to just stay and wait for the wind to die down. So I'm sitting there, just listenting to the storm with my tiny flame of a zippo slowly dieing down, when I start to hear whispering. At first I just thought it was the storm against my metal shed. But gradually the whispering got louder and louder...Any of you that watched Lost for the first season. You know how thered be scenes where somebody would be standing in the jungle in the rain and thered be that whispering of the "others"? Ya it was exactly like that.

So I start getting creeped out, and just as I get up to leave, a big crack comes and bam a branch from a nearby tree lands right on my shed, scares the crap out of me and I ran right out of there and into the house.

So, nothing paranornmal really, still scary tho
Sadly I don't have my own to share, but God I love reading them so much.

One time my mom's uncle was home alone, he lived in this really old house. His wife had gone out to the store and he was home, when he heard footsteps going up the stairs behind him. He turned around expecting his wife had come home without him noticing but instead he saw a confederate soldier walking up the stairs. The soldier turned around for a second and continued up the stairs.

don't know if this is true, but there's this story about my mother's old friend's friends (again, "or something").

they were bikers (it was the mid 80's or something) and dudes with cars with big engines to compensate for their small penises. anyway they were tired of some old madame (Black Madame I think, I know it sucks but I barely remember the details) who apparently was a witch of some sort.

a lot of the bikers and dudes with cars with big engines to compensate for their small penises had gone to her house and continued to let their big, scary dogs (rottweilers and all that crap) in before they proceeded to go inside. simultaneously all the dogs ran out with their tail between their legs and needless to say the bikers and dudes with cars with big engines to compensate for their small penises left with haste.

again, I don't know if it's true, I can't find anything on Google about it so it's up to you what to make of it.

I guess this is not an awesome story but tonight I've recorded my own sleep to see whether I sleep talk or not, and I ended up with a recording containing something like 10 minutes of something that sounds like clanging. Pretty creepy.

I was home alone once and heard a loud *thud* in the kitchen. I went and checked, and a 2-litre soda bottle fell off the counter. It was sitting normally in the center of the counter earlier.

In retrospect, this wasn't all that creepy, but at the time my friends and I were :gonk:

This happened, oh, about a year ago. We were in a rec center that my friend had rented for a party (since her family's rich as fuck and owns part of the building) and fucking about. We found a janitorial area way in the back of the building and there was an old elevator in the small space. Of course, we just had to see where it went. About 4 of us got on. There were 4 buttons on the control panel: Basement (where we were), Kitchen, 2nd floor, and 3rd floor. The kitchen button wouldn't work, and we already knew where that was anyways, so we headed up to the second floor.

The doors opened on the second floor, and it was pitch black. With someone holding the elevator open, we stepped out into a long hallway. The light switches wouldn't work for some reason... probably some fuse switched off somewhere. We were exploring up and down the hallway for a little bit, and heard a loud BANG from one of the doors which we'd found to be locked earlier. Naturally, we freaked the fuck out and piled back onto the elevator, hammering the buttons. We ended up on the third floor, which was uneventful. (All the doors were locked, but the hallway was lit.)

When we got back on the elevator, we found that, in our hammering, we'd hit the second floor button again. When the doors opened, we were all backed the fuck up against the elevator's back, smashing the down button. The doors closed, thankfully without any unknown sounds coming from the hallway. When we finally made it back down to the basement, we were all eager to get off the elevator. However, we paused and heard a noise coming from somewhere in the walls of the elevator... it was like a repeated clicking sound. Just for the heck of it, we pressed the 3rd floor button to see what would happen. The clicking got louder and we broke and ran.

We later found out that the second floor was a daycare area. Kinda makes me wonder what the noise was...

I think I might`ve posted this in the last thread, but I`ll post again.

About 3 years ago, my dad, my grandma and I went to the graveyard to visit my great-grandmother`s grave. We got out of the car and walked down this stone pathway bordered by tall hedges. We walked over to the grave. There was a tree that had been planted there in 1967 by my dad and my grandma. It was kind of eerie because there was no one in the graveyard at all. All of a sudden, I saw my dad turn around for no apparent reason. My dad began speaking to thin air. At this point I was like what is going on. So my dad said goodbye, then he turned around and faced us. I asked `Who were you talking to?' My dad looked over at the general area where the guy was.

He was gone.

My dad described him as an older man in his 80's wearing a suit. My dad recalled that he looked slightly washed out.

When I was a kid I walked into my bathroom, I saw this big figure, the shape of a man, but no features or anything. Just a big, silhouette standing right in front of me.

I was scared shitless.

I was outside in my backyard around 12 am a few nights ago because I couldn't sleep, in my backyard is this huge bush (we live out in the country) so for no reason I start to whistle, then someone else started whistling with me, and it was coming from the bush, I then NOPE'd and ran inside my house and locked all the doors.

I might of been hearing things though, seeing as I was tired and couldn't get to sleep.

Was in my room when I was like 10, sleeping. there's this little space between my closet and this bookshelf. I woke up because I heard something moving around, thought it was my dog trying to get out of the room. I turned over, and I saw some little kid peeking his head out of the nook, he was dressed up in civil war era clothing, was creepy, but I thought I was seeing shit so I just went to sleep and made my dog stay up on the bed with me. Found out years later there was a confederate Hospital here way back when, not surprising since the town I live in, Fredericksburg VA, was a hotspot during the Civil War. Apparently, it's supposed to be some child who died at the field hospital. Not sure if I believe that, but it's creepy shit all the same.

A couple of months ago, my friend (Ryan) and I were hanging out in my room after we got back from another friend's house. It was the normal hanging out stuff, so I'll skip all of that. Around 12 o'clock, I started too feel very odd, like I had been dreaming. I just got done fighting with another friend so I was stressed enough, and now I just felt weird. Ryan was sitting on my couch next to me. I don't remember much of this, but I remember it being dark. He was watching TV and it sounded muffled. and the screen was white. He got up and walked to the tv, and right before he shut it off, he had two holes in his head where his eyes used to be. Just black holes. He turned the TV off and it was pitch black in the room. I felt him walking towards me and I began to scream and hyperventilate. I then felt him shaking me, and restraining my arm telling me "dude calm down, what is wrong?" He was normal again.

The explanation to this is because I am schizophrenic. It was possibly the worst episode I have ever had, and I admit that I am 18 and afraid of the dark now ):

To LordLoss' story in the OP:
It's quite possible while working there the two builders accidentally touched or moved an artifact that the spirit of the house held quite dear in life and that's what awakened it.

When I was 6, I had a really bad fever. During the day I was sitting on my bed, then I started to see train tracks leading to my bed and out the door. Suddenly a train appeared and started blowing the horn, it was loud as fuck for a hallucination. Scared the crap out of me and right when it was about to hit my bed it disappeared.

Then that night when I was sleeping, I was NOT dreaming, my bed sheets started to lift up and off the bed with me in them. I got lifted up about 4 feet above my bed, moved away from the bed, and was gently lowered down to the floor. It felt like I was lying on a flat surface the entire time. I sat there for about 5 minutes trying to contemplate what exactly had happened, and when it hit me I ran to my parents screaming.

They got mad at me for putting my bed sheets on the floor in the middle of the night, re-made my bed and told me to go to sleep. :saddowns:

These are a few my friend told me, I wasn't involved. They're about his aunt actually, or someone related to him. Anyways, when she was a young child she lived on a farm, and some very creepy shit happened. Here's story number one.

This one happened when she was very young, around 7 or 8 I'd say. She was with her dad, and they had gone into the woods surrounding their farmland one day to search for firewood/a tree to harvest for firewood. They had parked the truck along a dirtroad, and got out and began searching. Now, her father had always warned her that if she ever saw the fireballs (orbs of light that apparently "lived" throughout the woods) to tell him immediately, and NEVER look at them or follow them. When twilight began to approach, she cam upon a few in the distant woods, just floating there, beautiful, begging her to follow them. She was about to give in when her father quickly whisked her up and ran to the truck and drove back to the farm.

Here's story number 2, the truly fucking scary shit.

Ok, another problem that plagued their farm was that for a period of around a month, their chickens had been being slaughtered. Assuming it was just a pack of wolves or some other form of wild life, they began setting up traps and bait around the chicken coop. A week passes and there's no suspect in any of the traps, the baits still there, and there chickens are still being slaughtered nightly. So one night her brother decides to stay up late and watch through the living room window with a bb gun and all of the lights off. What he finds is truly one of the most scariest things I can fucking imagine. Around 2 in the morning, he sees a fairly large, muscular man wearing nothing but boxers. The man is covered in cuts along his chest and arms, and he's wielding a fairly long and extremely sharp knife. He approaches the chicken coop, opens the door, grabs a chicken, and rings its neck, wrapping it around his hand snapping it like a twig, he then beats it against the coop and proceeds to stab the living shit out of it, even though it's long since been killed. He does the same for a few more, while the kid runs upstairs to tell his father, who then calls the police. The police arrive, apprehend the man, and what he then says runs chills through every last member of the family. He turns to them, bearing the most menacing and serious face they have ever seen. "I swear to God, I will fucking kill every last God damn one you if it's the last thing I ever, fucking, do."

It turns out he was doped up on a ton of narcotics, but fuck that would send chills to my very soul. I was shaking when my friend told me about it, I mean think about it, that would be horrifying.

Number 1 sounds pretty damn eerie, i'd like to hear more about these firey orbs.

oh and about Number 2...tell your friends i said sorry, I had a thing about chickens. :frogbon:

EDIT: and a story, almost forgot

This is something that had happened to my Cousin

My mom had been over at my Aunt's house while my Aunt's two kids were playing around outside (my cousins), well while hanging around the back of the house,
my cousin was suddenly grabbed by the neck and slammed against the wall of the house, and slowly lifted about 2-3 feet off the ground, stuck there getting choked out by something they couldn't see (a ghost?),
his brother started crying and ran to get my mom, She had to literally grab him and yank him off the wall, where he was finally back on the ground gasping for air with a red mark around his neck

I'm typing this in bed, at 6am from my iPhone, in a 175 year old building, so it might seem a bit brief.

A friend of my brother's has family who live in an old castle-turned-house in the Scottish highlands, so naturally, it's has a rich history.
There was a problem with theives in the castle around the 1800s, so a night watchman was hired, and he was extremely attached to his job as the watchman.
Skip to the modern day, me and my brother are staying there for a day for a visit, and we hear stories of the "night watchman".
Every now and then, people see the night watchman walking through the grand hallways of the castle, but a few inches above the floor, the height of the original flooring. You'd usually see him just walking around a corner infront of you, so you wouldn't get a good look, but you could see that he would always be carrying his lamp, and never acknowledge your presence, and ignore everyone who saw him, except if you do the following...
If you're outside of the castle, looking like a loitering theif, he will appear behind you, in the woods, and walk towards you. Nobody has ever had the balls to not run at this point, so I have no idea what happens if you confront him.
He used to live in a tower of the castle, which is now blocked off and abandoned due to structural safety reasons, but you can sometimes see him walking around the tower, from the outside of the castle, through the windows.

That's all I know of the night watchman.

:saddowns:
Sleep paralysis.

Well one night I was just laying in my bed when I heard a noise coming from my closet.
I got up and cautiously went over expecting my cat to be rummaging around in there.
I reached the door, grabbed the knob, and turned.
Something was pushing the door open and I couldn't stop it and then a skeleton popped out.

True story. :ohdear:

I woke up in the middle of the night once. It felt like I was somewhere imbetween asleep and awake. Anyways, I wake up and look around for a second the imidiatly my whole body goes limp. No matter how hard I tried I couldnt move. After about a minute of sheer terror I slowly get all my movement back standing with my feet and proceeding up.

Not the greatest story but it scared the piss out of me.
Also, disregard all shitty grammar and punctuation as the iPod sucks at both.

The elevator stopped at floor 3b (aka 4th floor and the doors opened).
It was in a hospital.
And thats where they keep the corpses.

The cool thing about it was the door to the corpse room has one of those red siren lights used on a firetruck and the door is thick and coloured red and white.
Reminded me of Resident Evil

Sometimes when I eat something, like chocolate or a sandwich, I leave it to the desk or something like that because I go elsewhere, such as toilet. When I return, I can't find them anywhere :ohdear:

It isn't really creepy, but annoying as fuck when the last pieces of the chocolate bar just disappear and I can't remember eating them.

Edited:

Fairly certain just ghosts.

One time when I was just dozing off to sleep my radio turned itself on full blast (It doesn't have an alarm). Scared the shit out of me, to this day I don't have an explanation for why it did that.
