Anyway, I need a cool image to rasterbate. Not something so ridiculously nerdy and obscure that nobody will "get it", but I don't mind stuff a little in that direction.

Thanks man, I'll probably post the results when I have replaced the colour cartridge in my printer, this takes up a lot of ink.
I printed 25 pages while my printer told me the ink was low :smug:

    What's a good dot size? I'm doing a 4x4 of this: http://www.jodrellbank.manchester.ac.../yuriearth.jpg

Why do people keep asking that? Just use the default, or put in an even smaller size for getting a looking-good-from-close-up image. And I don't think that image will make for a good rasterbation anyways, too detailed. But sure, go ahead.

    I'm going to make this

But only using around 12 sheets though. Feel free to use it.
    Original, pretty big

    Edited:

Not as big as I said earlier, because of the lack of ink in the printer :frown:

[thumb]'s not working. And I'd say it'd be rather difficult, seeing how there are many small details - I'd rather try scaling it up and printing it as is.

Finally got a resemblance of a desk in my bedroom complete, really happy with it. Next on the agenda is wall shelves, artwork, and desk organizer goodies.

Here's some other pictures from my bedroom if you're wondering,

I need to migrate some of my DVD collection up to my room, it's bare up here (blame netflix and HTPC's with home network acess to over 600 films)

To go a bit off-topic, looks outright amazing, that room.
Is that a refrigerator next to your desk, though? I hated when I had mine in my bedroom, it was a bitch to get to sleep at the beginning.

It was an older model, and every 15 minutes, it would start cooling down again, accompanied by the corresponding noise. God, just thinking of it...

That doesn't look quite rasterbated either. How do you do it, just enlarge the image to several pages manually or choose a microscopic dot size?

    Arg! I thought I had doubleposted so I deleted it ... but I hadn't. Ah well, re-writing...

Get fairly large images around 1000x1000 pixels, I got this one:
it's like 1300x2100 or something so I didn't bother scaling upwards. However, if you have a really small image, then you can
increase the canvas size in an image editing program, the big image will be blurry so you have to trace over it. But that's
a lot of effort and it's easier to just find a big image to start off.

You can try and find a bigger version of your existing image using http://www.tineye.com/ or just filter it to
large images in google image search.

I had to tweak the colours and clone tool out some cracks and stuff because the biggest image of the poster I could find
(above) had messed up colours compared to the image in my Herve morvan book.

Like a dumbass I didn't read the OP properly, I did this all and had to reduce the filesize to under 1MB and put it in JPEG format
because I used http://www.blockposters.com/ so if you use the second link in the OP you can upload a file without
size and resolution limits... if you're using the dotty system you can just try and save your file as a fairly high quality JPEG
(sorry I don't know how to do this other than in photoshop, you can tweak the settings by saving for web and devices).

    So I uploaded this:
and checked the pdf to see how bad the pixellation and such was, it wasn't bad at all in this case so I printed it out and stuff.

    I want something to Rasterbate.

It'll be about 4 tall and 5 wide, in portrait form. Something like a cityscape maybe? It'll be printed in black and white

Here's one I did in January. I didn't cut off the edges, because when it's flat, it's rather lovely. (It isn't flat right now because there's a draft going through my room )

I added highlighter ink to my poster as cheap blacklight paint -

I removed the ink tube from a highlighter and applied the ink to the poster both by splattering and smudged on with a paper towel.

So I tried to do a 5x5 of Dark Side of the Moon, and it got half way through before my entire (nearly full) cartridge of black ink was drained.

So happy right now. It's around $50 for a new cartridge.

Screwed up on the spacing at the bottom left though.

    edit:
The picture is flipped for some reason though. Pretend the edge of the Team Fortress 2 poster is the left of the picture
