Okay, so I've been lurking this thread for a bit now, and I was kinda on your side until this post.

If I'm surfing around on the internet for t-shirts, I'm really not going to scrutinize image quality. The mockup's purpose is to show you what your shirt is going to look like, it's not really a peice of art.

also flaming rusty is a bad idea, I heard he has friends that are moderators
I'm not saying the mockup is a piece of art. But when a client asks for a shirt mockup for a design he wants, I'm not going to send him some small, half assed free tee template I downloaded from the internet. I'm going to send him a great quality mockup that actually reflects the finished piece as CLOSE as possible. I couldn't tell you how many times I've bought a shirt and received something almost entirely different because of a poor mockup.

I didn't come here to take sides I came here to offer help to people who want it. I don't care about moderators or sides or friends or whatever, trust me.

    Edited:

Also, on a somewhat different note, I'm going to release a couple of different free mockups of a billboard, a man holding a AA sized poster, a brick wall graffitti-esque thing and a few others.

    and yes for free :sax:

If I'm surfing around on the internet for t-shirts, as long as it's big enough to see, I'm really not going to scrutinize image quality. The mockup's purpose is to show you what your shirt is going to look like. It's not really a peice of art, more of an advertisement tool.

also flaming rusty is a bad idea, I heard he has friends that are moderators
He's not flaming. And there isn't really a reason for banning him and mods don't ban for no reason at all.

It's not small and half assed. It's 2000x2000 and much more presentable than yours as it reflects somebody actually wearing the shirt which is what you want to see. If given a choice between a shirt crumpled on the ground and one on a person, which do you think they'd rather look at for an accurate representation of a shirt?

And how do layer blending options reduce image quality? They don't at all.

Basically you spent heaps of time on yours, that doesn't justify anything since the same or better result can be done in a much smaller time.

I am also very close to closing this thread because it's utterly useless and a ripoff. Unless of course it was free, in which case awesome! Thanks for your contribution! Beggers can't be choosers.

But since it's not, it's an atrocious thing to do and I can foresee myself closing this thread pretty soon. I personally believe you should take this elsewhere where people are gullible enough to buy this and be thankful for it.
I don't even understand how you can't feel ashamed of yourself for trying to sell something that clearly shouldn't be worth any money.

I can't believe I actually agree with you.

Still in Sweden, just dropping by.

Your shirt is 507 by 479 pixels. This one is 1350 by 1682. You didn't even do the same thing that this offers. Does your shirt design have over 40 preset colors that you can change the shirt to at the push of a button? Does it have a highlight layer, and two shadow layers? This thing is extremely easy to use, and I'm sure it would take a couple hours to make a mockup this high quality. And similar things run for at the very least, ten times this price.

also this is ten seconds work
Why does it even need a highlight layer? Turn those off and you notice they actually just add in shadows.

Shadows is the lack of light and vica versa. His highlight layer doesn't add lights, it just adds more shadows making the unshadowed areas look brighter.

Why would it take hours? I could see one hour being fit in order to make all the colours, but, hours?

I think that ten second work of yours look worse because it has a fuckton of grungy shadows and folds on it. If I wanted to see a mockup I would want to see what it looked like when I wore it, not when I threw it violently at the floor and boosted contrasts to max.

And before you mention it, the quick shit I did is no better regarding that.

Blending options reduce image quality. I don't understand why that's such a hard concept for you to understand rusty.

If you ventured out of these forums every once in a while into a real professional graphic environment you would realize that not everything is oh so easy in photoshop.

I need a red shirt, so let's magically color balance it to red and hope the printing company has that exact color...

I need my shirt to be a little larger, so maybe I'll just stretch it with photoshop and hope they can custom print me special sizes...

    Are you that retarded?

If your complaint is charging for something that somebody can already do then you're childish. And if you can do it fine, but some people can't and this is why that's here. Welcome to the real world, it's tough outside of facepunch, trust me.

Also, I'm sorry you spend 10 seconds on shirt mockups. HEY GUYS RUSTY ONLY SPENDS 10 SECONDS IT MUST BE THE EPITOME OF ARTISTIC TIMING.
It isn't possible to reduce image quality with blending. Only distort colours.

But a lot is oh so easy in Photoshop. The hardest thing is coming up with a good idea and a good design, not so much making it. But it always depends on just what you're going to make.

I don't think he said anything about making the shirt colour the correct colour with just colour balance. He said that was there in order to adjust the colours of the artwork to fit in with the scene.

When did he ever say one would stretch the image? Are you retarded?

It's not thougher out there than you make it.

    There is

    A) Capitalists that makes stuff and puts copyright all over the shit and sells it no matter what the fuck it is.

    And there is

    B) Everyone else that makes stuff and distributes it for free becasue they hate how people sell every fucking little thing and want to help them instead.

I think the word you're looking for is distribute, you don't sell things for free

I've created a High resolution T-shirt mockup for Photoshop. Unlike other mockups you aren't limited to colors or size restrictions, you can display your art on a tee that actually looks printed and well done.

It's a high quality PSD file containing:

    American Apparel Tee layout.
Multicolor shirt's available in all printing colors.
Shadow & Highlight layers so your art actually looks printed.
    300DPI at 7x5 Inches.

This file is available here: http://tinypay.me/~7c6eMUQ
Most, if not all other mockups range from $30~$500USD. This file is created with intentions of helping artists display their work at a more professional level, for a fraction of the price; or to help companies with proof issues regarding clients, helping them visualize a better finished product.

If you're a cheapskate and want to try before you buy, you can pay with a tweet too for a sample psd.
