Yeah, you wanna make faces like:
Just play the damn game when it comes out, guys. No sense of whining about it now.

DA Savior of Kvatch and shit.
Daggerfall's faction play had its charm, because you could really side with anybody you wanted, and it wasn't really a "save the world" questline.
I have trust that they wont really force the main quest on you. TBH I didnt really like the way Oblviion started, sort of felt like the game was rushing you "you MUST get to jauffre, you MUST get to kvatch, you MUST get to cloud ruler temple, etc" Morrowind was paced a bit better, and I'm hoping Skyrim will be handled in a similar fashion. Like, send the character out to do some mundane work that isnt directly related to the main quest, or make it so the player needs to side up with a guild or something. There should be one or two smaller MQ quests before the questline begins to pick up.
In oblivion right off the bat you feel like everything is depending on you, whereas Morrowind had a bit more RP value because its like "wahoo, im out of prison," and if you want you can leave the Emperor's note in a pool of swamp excrement then do whatever you want without a care.
Fucking this.
Guys if you study every aspect and every detail about Skyrim beforehand, then what is there left to play? Obviously the game, but there will be no surprises.
I've always liked Oblivion, and kind of looking forward to Skyrim too but I'm not so excited I dig through the world maps and shit before the game is even out. I mean what the fuck, really?
We are excited about a game, finding shit about that game is the next best thing to playing it.
I don't mind limited facial customization that much. How often do you go into third person and look at your character's face anyway? Most of the time you're either playing in first person or your face is obscured by a helmet. Plus, no matter how many sliders you mess with in Oblivion your face comes out looking pretty much the same every time.
Edited:
Yeah. I like how Caius Cosades makes you do some work for a guild before you can advance in the storyline, it directs the player to explore more of the world rather than just do the quest line.
Yeah I pretty much never look at my character's face. Other than in the menu, of course. Even then I often have a helmet covering most of it.
I just use sexchange twice. No more face, no more problem. Sorta grew on me.
Yeah, who picked the title.
Well, lets get this thread over with.
Do want.
I hope Khajiits and Argonians are able to use claws again this time around, I missed it from morrowind.![]()
I stopped reading news because the hype would kill me![]()
This especially. Truth be told I'd rather have an ME style system where your character always looks fairly good regardless of the sliders (the extremes being the exception) The only times I find all of Oblivinon's sliders to be useful is when I make an orc, argonian or khajiit because they are all "ugly" but they are "cool ugly" if you do it right. If you're making an human or an elf, you
A) wind up with an Ok character
B) wind up with a pile of shit
Take a look at any "post your character" oblivion thing. Im sure if you could see the slider values, all of the good looking characters would be more or less the same, because with facegen there's either horrendously ugly, or acceptable.
I'd rather have the ME system where you get a selection of noses and a selection of mouths, and a selection of eyes, and so on and then you can adjust their size and position. It makes for more human looking characters and it doesn't take so fucking long to make a character that doesn't look like they have downs.
Alternatively there's the Saint's Row/Tiger Woods system of customising everything on your face, each part of every aspect of your character.
The only downside is it litterally takes over an hour to do if you want a good character.
I'm just stating that it wouldn't be cool to make it worse.
I will play it anyway, you guys don't know the difference between whine and opinions sometimes
I am curious to know what cool ugly looks like.
Repost:
Having a problem with the Anvil docks area with Better Cities, whenever I try to walk through there it gets choppier than normal for a few seconds and then freezes up permanently requiring me to ctrl-alt-del and forcibly close the game,or just crashes. I noticed uninstalling QTP3 Redimised seemed to help but at the cost of everything ending up black or purple because of missing textures.
My specs are
Intel i7 930
ATI Radeon HD5870
6 GB of RAM
I'm not sure what else could be causing this crash and i'm at a loss of what to do other than uninstalling BC outright which i'd prefer not to have to do since I think this is a great mod.
gee, how to explain. Something that is inherently ugly, but has a cool aesthetic. Going to be hard to post you some examples.
Cool ugly? I'm fairly certain the entire Orc race embodies this idea.
I just purchased Oblivion, late, I know.
Todd did say in an interview that Dragons attacking randomly is a way of "forcing the main quest on the player", but I'm assuming we can still ignore it. We'll just have to fight off dragons every now and again, but hopefully that'll fit fine within the game world.
I decided I'd rebuy Oblivion, deluxe edition for steam. It installed fine, but I get an "appcrash", after hitting the play button. I never get to see the Bethesda logos. What do?
Well they can't just ignore the storyline because of players who just want to roleplay. I mean there are dragons of course there are dragon attacks.
Try deleting oblivion.ini from documents/my games/oblivion
Even if i'm not gonna be constantly looking at the character i want it to be sexy. I want to know its a sexy person saving the world :( Plus you're still gonna have to see the face sometime and reveal the horror. Whoever heard of a Susan Boyle saving the world anyway. They must be sexy otherwise just might as well let the world die.
You're dumb. In Oblivion you were the deformed man that could not run diagonally.
Edited:
Hopefully Argonians will be in this game and hopefully they can wear half-helms without looking like they have downs syndrome.
I just bought the PC version of Oblivion even though it's almost certainly likely this computer can't run it. Oh well, the downstairs one may be able to.
it's probably a memory issue, gamebryo isn't good at memory management
do these two things:
1)apply the 4GB patch to oblivion.exe and obse_loader.exe
2)install oblivion stutter remover, in the OSR ini file change the option breplaceheap from 0 to 1
these two, particularly the second one, will get rid of almost all memory related crashes
-snip-
Finally, my months of whining at you paid off. I reccommend downloading Oblivion Mod Manager and OBSE, and also installing Oblivion Stutter Remover, Streamline and Darnified UI. These won't change the way you play the game but will make it run much better, crash much less often, and generally be a much more pleasurable experience.
-snip-
Didn't work.
Where can I find the 4GB patch?
-snip-
You'll probably still get shit performance around the docks though, the combination of distantLOD, the huge amount of statics, the huge amount of inefficiently coded AI routines, coupled with the water would even put stress on an engine that knew how to handle modern PCs.
Thankies. :buddy:
Also, There's a lot of neat weapons, armor and clothing in FFXIV that would probably fit in quite well, problem is there isn't a modelviewer that allows you to extract/export mesh and texture data yet so until something like that springs up I won't be able to port anything. (No gigantic swords that look like they'd weigh a ton and bikini armor in this game so yeah, i'll post some examples when I have a chance to)
Edited:
As long as it's still playable and doesn't freeze up/crash
What the fuck are you talking about? I've wanted to get into PC gaming for quite a while. Anyway, I've not got long to play it really since I doubt my parents will allow my games on their PC. But they don't need to know. :ninja:
