That was XBOX footage. Unless you're a caveman, you'll realize how shitty console graphics are. Compare BF3's PC version to Xbox's PC version.
HURR DURR LOW RESOLUTION TEXTURES
That sword texture, that wolf's pelt, and the ruins in the background look pretty high-res to me.
The leather armor, helmet and horns all look pretty good. Background is decent.
You have to be partially blind to say that Skyrim doesn't have some nice textures in it. Generalizations like "all are shit textures" is something a 5th grader would say.
Okay, nevermind just realized he's trolling after last post.
Ignore him he's just trying to make you guys angry.
I don't really care if the textures are the same on PC, still looks great to me.
I was really looking forward to this game, but after the recent gameplay videos I'm not sure I'll even buy it. I was hoping it would be what Oblivion promised to be, but the gameplay and graphics still look very much like Gamebryo.
That's a horrible thing to base your opinion of a game off of.
you actually find it retarded to care about a game's presentation? you may want to rethink who the retard is here.
edit: and of course everyone blindly rates dumb if anything negative is said about the game
It's a game made for 6 year old hardware, if you're expecting them to make a big open world with Crysis ultra quality graphics you're an idiot.
I have no idea what 240p video you are talking about.
I realise how backwards it is to nitpick at an open world game's graphics - but I do think it's a crucial thing for people who play the game for immersion. That said, I've always been able to look through Bethesda's presentation for the content - if Skyrim is just an extension of Oblivion's dated look, I really don't mind.
Skyrim may not have the best graphics(who gives a shit), but it has a solid aesthetic.
Watch this, you might learn a thing or two.
I for one will be playing Skyrim on day one, regardless of any "low res textures" or "bad animations" that may crop up.
-And I'm going to enjoy the shit out of it.
to some degree.
especially in an rpg
where immersing yourself in fictional world is a big part of the game
which i imagine being really hard in Skyrim because it looks almost as shite as Oblivion.
nothing casts a shadow wtf.
Just managed to order my retail copy off shopto!
Now to leave the thread due to idiots who dont use spoiler tags.
okay first of all i don't expect it to be a big open world crysis. i do however expect it to be better than what i've seen. right now it looks like a 2007 game, and I'm basing that on the official gameplay videos as well.
second, if you don't give a shit about the graphics, why have you been defending them for the last 2 pages? also "we"? speak for yourself, a lot of people give a shit about graphics.
you keep emphasising that the graphics are going to be amazingly superior on the pc, but really doubt it. the lighting and shadows are still gonna be the same, and the animations are still gonna be bad, only the textures will be higher res. if the graphics on the pc are going to be so much more amazing, they would have released screenshots and videos from the pc version instead.
You can't say that Skyrim doesn't look good without punching yourself in the face first.
i'm not too confident that pc version will look that much better, but I will be pleasantly surprised if it did.
So a guy at my school got Skyrim already this friday. Messup with his order. I am jealous. He posted pictures on his facebook as well, so I know it's not fake.
It's for the 360 as well, so he was able to play it this weekend :<
Now I personally think all games that are for both PC and Consoles should have comparison screenshots and videos before the game is even out just to prove that the game is going to be better on one but also warn people that it may not look like that on their computer or console.
I know this no real excuse but I still think the game looks nice.
I'm going to enjoy becoming a thief and reloading my save constantly until every guard in town is naked of items.
if it makes anyone feel better I'll install it on my beefy computer and get some good screenshots at its best settings on launch day
I think Skyrim looks pretty good, and I'm lucky in that I'm not so focused on graphics anyway. Many of my favourite games being SNES era. Contrary to what others have said, you're not retarded for thinking graphics matter, it's opinion based for starters and if that person values a high quality visual experience, and they feel Skyrim fails on that front, they're fully entitled to think so. Regardless of whether your or I disagree.
