My baby, Christine. 1989 Caprice Classic, 55800 original miles, restored by myself. Picking up a 1986 Caprice Wagon tomorrow for my winter car. whooa yeah. I've never been more happy with a car. I baby this car, and she gets me out of the shit storm when in need. I had a 2002 3.8 Impala 9c1 undercover police car which I sold and used the money for this. I've never been more happy. It may not be the most fast car in the world, but when you ride in a boat like this, you don't care about speed, or gas mileage.

They didnt make very many of the white with blue pin stripe and vinyl top, especially rare since it is NOT a brougham.

I got a quote to do dual cat back running into flowmaster 40's with squared off 7-8 inch wide 2 inch tall tips, and it was wayy to much. I can't do much welding myself and for this car it wasnt set for duals, so..it would be a lot of customer work. I was going to drop in a 350 and some new headers and tubro tranny, but its my daily driver and the engine is sooo young in terms of use, so I'm waiting until it shits the bed. Just for now at least, I'm still in highschool, so I don't make bundles of money.You need to get some dual exhaust man, and some nice engine mods.

The camera doesnt do it justice, and the muffler wasn't fully broken in then, now its almost twice as loud and makes the back firing 'popping' noise when you hit and let off high rpms

Back in time? Tons of clean ones still around. That Si I have/had (I'm trading it atm) had some quarter panel rust in the back, otherwise wasn't too bad. I see tons of clean CRXs go for ~1500-2000 all the time.

Well, I'm not going to lie, it's not the most powerful car. She does move out though, don't get me wrong. After I modded up the exhaust (getting rid of the cat did so much) throttle response, not to mention power was greatly increased. I just drive around real slow so people can look at my car and be envious
i don't need to be driving real fast, although I have gotten her to break 100.
Also, maybe after I am finished up with college, I plan to still have her, if thats the case I am partial to a small LS1 Swap ;) ohh baby

I bought the car for $200 off of a Bulgarian guy, ("Yes, yes. Car ist guut. Car goes.. uh, uh, from punt A to punt B. Car ist vurry guut!).
I drove it for a year -- great starting car, I might add -- and eventually sold it to some Aboriginal ("Native") chick for what I paid for it.
The Tempest sure was fun in -40'C weather... no traction control, no anti-lock brakes... awww yeah. A real road warrior special! B)

That's a cool car, really clean. And I mean no offence by this but how the hell could they only get 170BHP from 5 litres, that's about 35bhp per litre.... 240's <33 Love em man. I was trying to get one as my winter stallion, but no luck here in Pennsylvania, plus I am getting a good deal one a little gas saving 91' sunbird. I was supposed to get a Caprice Wagon like I said in my post...Yeah, the guy 'forgot' to tell me how rusted and 'didn't know' about the bad transmission linkage it was after I drove 2 hours to go buy it. But I was only kidding about it being a 1989, it really is just a huge underpowered engine, but it's good enough to lay some tire or get up quickly if you need to plow through a yellow light, at least mine is now with freeing it up with exhaust mods, before that..Yeah not so much.I drive a 1986 volvo 240 which has a 2.3liter straight 4

We had a 1986 Volvo 740 GLE Estate, Straight 4 2.3L, The manual stated 135BHP. That car felt really, really underpowered and drank fuel. averaging something like 18MPG. They're also fun. Driving a car that lifts the front tires and snaps your neck is fun but that doesn't mean zipping around like a fucking cheetah or whatever isn't. I've had tons of fun in mine...Power is fun but it's not everything.
