2. not in the UK, if you're under 16 you can be taken home but usually the police just send you on your way when they realise you're just a photographer

Safety pins, some paper clips, and a pair of pliers. (Or more advanced lockpicking equipment, if you think that's necessary) Never know what kind of old locks one might stumble into.
Or, if you've got the balls and/or the thirst for vandalism, a sledgehammer.

As long as there isn't an owner (or law enforcement) that's going to have the chance to be all pissy over me entering, I don't think many people are going to go apeshit over it. It passes my moral inspection anyway. :p

I started to take a thermos of tea urbexing, don't know why just a cup of tea adds to the relaxation of exploring and taking photos.

I suppose you're right. It's not nearly as bad as kicking in a door or breaking a window.

At least in the UK, afaik you can only be sued for "damages" incurred by someone - i.e. if you trespass, but do not damage anything at all / move anything / etc, then you can be sued for the owners losses (i.e. £0).
This is not legal advice, just what I interpret the trespass laws as.

Well what I take now is:
1 or more cameras and extra lenses (28mm, 58mm and 135mm)
Light Meter
Flashgun + spare batteries
Spare film
A tripod
2-D cell maglite (L.E.D.)
A thermos of tea
Some kendal mint cake ( I do enjoy stopping for a bite to eat while urbexing)
And normally I wear clothes for example maybe a Shirt, T-shirt, Jeans or regatta work pants,and assault boots.
Sometimes my council uniform of hi-vis polo shirt and pull-over or coat
I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Also don't talk about it too often irl. People have gone urbexing, shared the experience at school which resulted in the place being knocked down/tightened up.
If you have a smart phone, buy a cheap old Nokia or anything similar, those things have amazing battery life and won't break when you drop it.
Always watch your step, never walk casually unless it's pretty obvious the floor has nothing dangerous on it (e.g. ground floor of a factory has damp floor but nothing noticeable), however still keep glancing down.
Understand whats to hard to reach, if you spot something interesting but getting to it can be hazardous just leave it, there is never a need to take unnecessary risks.
Also don't take things from the site, part of the fun is finding interesting documents and trinkets, looking at them and then leaving them for the next explorer to check out. Imagine how much more interesting the videos of Chernobyl would be if people didn't re-enter the zone and loot.

OK I can't do this kinda stuff in my home country 'cos its too dang small and anything that's abandoned is either pulled down or haunted, but for a bag I suggest a Timbuk2, its about US$100+ or so for a decent backpack, comes with this clip-on thingy in front so that it stays on even when sprinting as long as the strap thingy is tightened. And it apparently uses some kevlar in the material, so i guess your back won't be screwed over TOO badly if you fall but don't go test it.
Oh and btw can someone suggest to me a good pair of gloves for climbing? I parkour a bit now and then but I have sweaty palms and sometimes i slip off stuff because of it. For example, I scaled a wall, tried to throw one leg over, hands lost grip, fell 2m, screwed up my back for the week :(
