Diecast Camel Trophy 1989 - The Amazon
This is my 1/43th scale Diecast Camel Trophy 1989 LandRover Defender 110.
This I made from the Corgi No: CC07709. (see picture below)
The car is 10cm in lenght, that is 3,94 inches.
I bought two of these for the extra two spare wheels I needed for it.
All the accessories you see on the vehicle are self made, out of plastics and brass.
These are mostly plastics, and all painted with Humbroll enamel paint.
Except for the body, I used a spraycan with custom color to match the sandglow color as much as I could.
And I can tell you I searched and watch a lot of video's and photo's on the net to get it done right.
Figurines inside are from Preiser No: 65337 (see picture below)
I chosen number 2 and 5. (from left to right)
That was a hard fit to get them in properly.
If I knew this, I would have ordered 1/50th scale, and not 1/43th scale for it.
What's hard to see is that there are accessories inside as well, such as:
First Aid kit, gas- canister, toolbox, fire extinguisher & a paper roadmap held by the navigator, and more.
The driver holds the gear stick and the steering wheel, and they both wear Camel Trophy clothing, watches and their seatbelts.
I also had to change the dashboard to get the steering wheel to the left instead of the right, I also reversed the windshield wipers.
Special thanks to Repro & Design for printing the decals and the background poster.
