weirdly enough I did wonder at certain points in the film if the protagonist maybe had some form of high-functioning aspergers or something

I know he's supposed to be a drifter with a cloudy past, but there was something off about him.
Well it obvious that being the drifter he is, he's left loved ones behind or lost someone he loved very dear due to his line of work. This resulted in a refusal to being outwardly social as to avoid forming close friends with people in an attempt to prevent what happened in his unknown past from occurring again.
just got done watching this
god damn
The scene where he was at the grocery store, was about to walk in the isle but saw the girl and the kid. Went to a different isle.
he just didnt want her to think he was stalking her
Edited:
but the amount of times he bumps into them, i wouldn't be surprised if he was
It's perfect '80s style though.
Yeah but I just don't think it's done well
he is so fit yet all he does is drive
Showed it to my parents. They said it was too slow.
Why would you show it to your parents?
this is a movie to be watched alone in my opinion
Well I saw it with my parents and they liked it. Depends on what kind of viewer your parents are.
I'll have to agree with this. My friends would just complain about it being boring, so I decided to watch it by myself.
that really depends on what kind of friends you have
probably because a lot of people have at least one parent that likes film..especially given that this movie encapsulates the aesthetics of a time period that's very unfamiliar for most on this board, but wouldn't be for someone's parents
i showed it to my step dad, he loved it
My dad didn't like it when he went to go see it in theaters
my dad loved it
Edited:
tell ur parents they are fuckin philistines
My dad has bad tastes usually, but even him liked that film a lot because it reminded him of a few films he loved in the 80s.
They also hated Black Swan.
That's not right.
I absolutely loved this movie. Favourite from 2011 easily. I watched it again with my parents, and when it was over my dad only said : "Hmmm...that was different" I don't think he really liked it.
I've heard people say they didn't like it cause of how "slow" it was. To each one's own, but I was completely engaged the entire I watched this movie. Some people need a bit more "flash" to be entertained I guess.
if it was true to the movie it should say "there are no getaways"
gosh your parents are awful move out post haste
what does that even mean

edit : thumbed for repost
so late
also it sux
Oh sorry. Doesn't suck though, i think the 80s style goes with the films art direction.
yeah just because something emulates an 80s style well doesnt mean it's well done
everyone keeps posting that cover/poster everywhere im so sick of it it doesnt even look good its messy and bad looking
what's with the lines coming from his eyes, is he hyper-crying or something
it doesn't fit
Better then the Blu Ray's cover that's for sure.
-snip- whoops, didn't notice the other download link.
yeah but anything is better than that thing lol
Heard of this.
Got this.
Watched this.
In love with it. Absolutely fantastic movie. Felt excessively slow or dry at times though. His one-hundred-thousand-light-year-stare-into-the-vagina-of-the-universe-creating-god which lasted five minutes made me seriously wonder if I paused by accident and I just didn't notice.
people complaining about the lack of dialogue or excessive staring are silly - there's a reason for it. and at the end of the day, you really really want him to get the girl. the scenes when they were together did a fantastic job at serving their purpose, there felt like a genuine connection, even with so little dialogue.
if you're a awkward nerd it's easy to identify with the main character
Driver is neither awkward or a nerd.
