Post apps that you think arr essential or android such as the barebones of apps to power users, possibly without rooting.

Post essential games too. Or anything that is essential, free or paid.

I was gonna say maybe this should stay in the "favorite apps" thread, but going through that I realize that a lot of it is kind of old and potentially outdated already. What's everyone else think?

also I always recommend the GO suite of the launcher, widgets and such, but I don't like go dialer because for some reason it added fifty blank contacts to the start of my list.

I say keep it, people change app habits all the time.

How is Go Launcher, really? I've heard a lot about the suite, but is there anything that stands out?

    I like:
    the available skins
the ease of use and customization
    the way folders work
the ability to arrange/add/subtract homescreens, and set a specific screen to be the main 'home' instead of just the 'middle' window of 5, so you can have it like an iphone where it's the first screen, or choose whatever. Depending on my wallpapers, I'll have my home-homescreen set differently so by default a specific part of the image is always right where I want it. If I feel like it, I'll add a blank screen at one end or another just so it nudges the picture to just where I like

    Gameboid now and forever.
    Google Goggles
    Widget Locker
3G Watchdog (150 MB monthly limit)
Both Opera browsers are still literally the best you can get on the platform.

Also I've been using GO launcher for about a few months now. I really like it. My only problem with it is that the damn widgets can't keep their skins on reboot.

CP doesn't necessarily have to have a victim, it's just that 99.9% of the time it does. The thing with pedos is that they've been demonized to be horrible no matter what, and I don't think that's the case.

SwiftKey X - the best keyboard ever with the best prediction system and overall usability, GUI, and price.

It is usually $3.99 but there are always sale, down to $1.99. It was also featured in the Android Markets 10 cent app sale, that was when some of us bagged this app.

It has a fully working free version that has all of the features, free. It's just their prediction system and some other stuff is not there, or ends in a month.

It is only $1.99 right now but only until the end of cyber Monday! Or you could wait until Christmas where it might drop to 99 cents...

I use swype when I have the effort to do so then switch to swiftkey when I'm tired/in bed

That could mean any number of things - be specific

and another to make a ringtone out of a song.
I just cut out the part of the song I want in Audacity and save it on my phone, /media/audio/ringtones

I tried the month long free trial and it simply trumps everything else I've used. Swype and TouchPal are utter shit compared to it.

The app happens to still be $1.99 because they are celebrating for being the number 1 app in the UK. It's starting to seem that swiftkey x won't drop down to 0.99 on Christmas...

Then I'll buy it. it would be my Christmas present to the devs.

I do not know of a free one, but I think Widget Locker Lockscreen may be able to.
