Aethermod should probably be added, assuming that it works with 1.8? (I'm not very sure if it does.)

Consider me here to help out with any issues with mods, and maybe custom textures to make mods match texturepacks. Currently working on a bunch of Pam's mods to match Sphax PureBDCraft 32x.

If you're counting modpacks as well (Which should be a good idea) Then put the Yogbox on there, it's a pretty good compilation.

Problem with these links is that they lead to a searched highlight. Ignore these and go to opening post.
    Here's some suggestions:

Animal Transport: Animals suck when being transported in vanilla. Plus it was a waste of fishing rods. Now, here's a lasso and some cages. Great for on-the-go storage.

Fireplaces!: I got it for the grill. Fun if your private SMP server has it.

Kitchen Additions: Shamefully, I care about decorations in my Minecraft house, too.

Better Than Wolves: Why wasn't this in the opening post to begin with? Hint: Using a wicker in the hopper can separate gravel into flint and sand once it goes through.

Railcraft: Now I'm a miner, I gotta get a way for carts to transport things. Now in HO scale.

Balkion's Weapon Mod: Meh, at least it has a musket. Blow darts can be crafted quickly from those chicken and cacti farms.

TF2 Teleporter: Because I know how much you guys like Team Fortress 2 so much...

Odds are, these will be rated clocks by those who browse the MC forums as well.

I've been playing with AMCO recently, the 1.7 versions were extreme cluster-farts due to the stupidly high amount of mods(and the shitty texture pack that came with it,good god,he took Glimmar's pack and made it shitter),but since the 1.8 version isn't as full,it's less ridiculous and disorganized. It's quite fun.

List has to have cubic chunks, by far the most important single player mod.

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/...obintons-mods/

This mod expands the world to be 65504 blocks tall, almost 512 times larger than vanilla Minecraft (exactly 511.75). Build in infinite skies, tunnel down to the lava core, raid dungeons deep underground. The sky is no longer the limit: Infinite Minecraft awesomeness in Three Dimensions!
    It also improves performance
