I picked up an 81' T/A about 2 months ago for $5000




Right now she's got a Pontiac 455 cranking our 425hp and 512 lbs of torque. Mechanically she's sound save the dented oil pan I need to replace (which is going to be a pain in the ass). It's backed by a TH350. Other than that there isn't anything super special, she's got some generic radials on there and the interior is out save the seats and some of the interior plastic. My questions are 1. How much would you expect to pay to have a oil pan put in (keep in mind the 81' came with a 301 turbo stock, so a 455 kinda takes out the wiggle room. I'd have to life the block 4" to get enough clearance to remove the pan) and 2. How much would you expect for a new interior?

Found you a oil pan, just get a cherry picker or so, and do it yourself.

I can't answer the interior question, but it shouldn't be TOO expensive.

If you check around, there are places that'll rent you out some jack stands that'll go up a good 3' if you want to do it yourself, although I wouldn't suggest it considering it looks like your driveway if angled.

I've already got a pan and gasket. It's just getting the engine up, and the fact that the cars in Minnesota and I'm in Florida :P Interior wise I've heard around $700 which isn't too bad for seats and carpet.

Very. Considering it has 3 gears it flys like a rocket. The only thing really stock in the engine are the block and cams, once I put in some new cams I'm looking at 500+ hp.

Only for Orks. A Nice Yellow Bird with fade away flames would look pretty ballin on it though, that'll come after I finish the interior.
