My latest song, Moonlit.
This is I think the 7th or 8th track for my third album, Star Gaze-R.
Do enjoy ^_^

I personally really liked it. It was very different.
Hmm, usually I don't like dubstep very much, but this is an exception. Nice work!
I like it, but I think the bass is way too low, I can barely hear it. The beat and melody are really nice and chill, but it's too... dry.. I don't know how to explain, it feels weird having a loud beat and barely no bass or something to balance it out.
Overall, I really enjoyed it, you have talent, but there's still some room for improvement.
Now this is a good review, and for that I thank you.
The bass shouldnt be too quite as I only used 5" monitors int he production of it, albeit they are active monitors.
As for the song as a whole it's only a final draft, and once I have a loose album of 15 songs composed I will be spending a great amount of time to go through each song, altering and mastering them so that they can be distributed to iTunes and bandcamp.
Which is why all of the songs I put online are free to listen to and download on newgrounds, they aren't fully completed songs.
Thanks for the awesome review!
I really, really enjoyed this. It's chill but energetic too, loved it. And before it really kicks off it almost sounds like one of Dr Dre's old beats![]()
This isn't, dubstep, though. More breakbeat, perhaps? Not like that's an issue, just thought I should mention it.
What did you use for the strings?
Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
I use a soundfont called Squid_font Orchestral for all of my orchestral stuff, It's free too.
Bit of a pain to find and get to work at first though...
It's pretty good. I'm not really a fan of the electronic music scene as a whole, so I kinda pick and choose what songs I like, and this is definitely one I don't dislike.
I particularly like the parts with the warble effect - I think the leads and such there are quite catchy, actually.
Though I will agree with chaz, it doesn't really seem like dubstep. I won't pretend to know what it's more like, but I don't think it sounds very dubstep.
Also, I have to ask, what did you use from the drums? I really need an adequate replacement for the shitty default drums (FPC) that comes with FruityLoops.![]()
heh thanks man.
yeh im actually using the default drum samples that came with FLS ^_^
I do need to expand my samples though..
At times the bass seems a bit quiet, otherwise pretty pleasing to listen to.
I love a mix between Classical and modern music, did something similar myself. (Song breaks down to strings further on)
Has more of a DnB feel to it, but I like it a lot.
I find this very relaxing, got a link to more of yours?
