That would be incredible! Thank you!

Thank you so much. Now, if I can get a key from Brt I should just use the previous build you posted, right?

    Edited:

    huh?
If you now have more money, I'll rejig the build again tomorrow as the 550 Ti was a real budget option I used to keep the price down.

I'll probably replace it with a GTX 560 or a 6870 if possible. I have a slight preference to AMD cards, so do tell me if you need the build to have an Nvidia card. Other than that, you're almost there!

I'd prefer Nvidia just because I know ATI (or AMD? Dunno if you made a mistake or if they started making graphics cards. I'm behind the times) has had a lot of issues with a lot of games in general and Nvidia cards are just much more widely supported. I don't really have more money but not having to buy an OS frees up $100 for actual computer stuffs, that's all (IE my budget is still 600-700 but now 100 of it doesn't have to go to an OS). I'd be willing to pay an extra 30 or so if it'd really help.

    Thanks for you help, again

ATi were a subdivision of AMD, but they scrapped the branding and made all future cards as 'AMD' cards.

Personally, I've never had a single issue with my AMD cards, nor do I know many people that have - but you're definitely right that Nvidia are more supportive of new games at release, whereas AMD catch up a bit after.

You can get a better deal with AMD, but with Nvidia generally carries a lot fewer problems as the drivers are slightly better.

How about I do one with each card and then explain the pros and cons of both builds?

I'd really just prefer to go with Nvidia because I have had problems in the past with unsupported cards and garbage like that and I'd rather pay a bit more to just not deal with that stuff. However, if you want to do a build with each, that'd still be very useful and cool.

    Thanks

At the end of the day, it's your computer, and the reasons you want Nvidia are perfectly understandable, so I have created a pretty beastly Nvidia PC.

It has a GTX 560 (not a Ti though) instead of the 550 Ti, which is faster by a fair bit. Here's your build. Still $30 over budget, but it'll be worth it.

Alright! Well I'll go with that. One last thing: What is this about Ivybridge? I honestly have no idea what any of that means.

    thanks again

It's a new generation of intel processors, has features like PCIe 3.0. It's not really something you need to wait for.

Yeah waiting for Ivy Bridge might mean a bit more performance, but I expect it'll be out of your price range for a while after they come out. Enjoy the PC.

Case is mostly determined by preference, as long as it isn't made out of wobbly plastic.

    Don't get the 550 Ti. Replace it with a 5850 or 6870.

I replaced it with a GTX 560. There's no way a 560 Ti would fit in his budget.

Also, yeah. That case you linked is fine! Enjoy your PC

Okayyyyyyyy I hooked everything up (I think) and I'm not getting any video to know if it's working or not. HDD is spinning, LED light on the case is on, the power button works, the fan on the CPU is spinning. The only thing red is the "memOK" light which I do not understand at all so I'm just ignoring it. My GPU's fan isn't going either nor is it doing anything at all really and the video from that doesn't work either. I'm trying to get video through the HDMI on the motherboard right now FYI.

Any idea why it's not putting out any video whatsoever?
Also I hooked up the USB keyboard and it's not doing anything as in the caps lock lights and such won't turn on.

    Thanks.
Move to tech support? I thought it would be better if you guys answered since you know the parts.

Take a picture if you can. Really sounds like a memory issue. Also, you can try removing one stick of ram and see what happens.

Okay so I installed the like sound thing into the MOBO which makes beeps when things are going wrong, right? POST I think it's called. Well anyway it makes one long beep and then two short beeps. I looked up online what that meant and apparently it's some sort of memory issue? So I took everything out of my computer excluding the RAM and the power supply and the CPU. Still beeps. Swapped the RAM around in various combinations. Still beeps. Took out the actual CPU... Beeping stops. Put in the RAM without the CPU, no beeping. Is it really a memory issue then, or is the CPU fucked? I've narrowed it down to one of those two things thanks to putting in the POST beeper thing.

Probably the memory if that's what the beeps indicate. RMA the memory first. Then the CPU if it doesn't work.

If it's beeping the sequence to indicate a memory problem, it's most likely a memory problem. So I woudln't worry about that and just RMA it.

I don't know if that's why it's beeping that sequence or not though I'm just guessing based on what I've read.

K wait, does it say the monitor is connected? If so just try pluggin it into your onboard graphics or your GPU a few times, I had this problem with my shuttle and it eventually fixed itself in about 2 hours, if its not fixed then RMA the motherboard.
