Wish they would bring VIP back, it used to be pretty popular as a CS:S gamemode

Some of the weapon models look kind of... bad.
The ak looks really nice though.
I would have liked to see an m16 as well as an m4 though. But if their goal is to pretty much make an updated version of the original counterstrike, then new weapons would throw off the balancing.
The awp looks kinda disgusting to me.
There is just something about the way aiming and bullet recoil works in this game... I hate it. I would rather play CS:S. I have mouse acceleration turned off but there must be some kind of mouse lag option I haven't found yet. I don't like I can't fire more than two shots without the gun seeming to just shoot in the air, despite the lack of visual recoil. This is really annoying because I like everything else about the game but this is ruining it, but I don't know if anyone else is experiencing the same problems or actually likes it like this.

No I think they said that they do want this to be a new Counter Strike. The reason they're making this is because they don't want to edit 1.6 or Source and with the new Counter Strike they can test out new game modes, map balances and new weapons/grenades. Not to mention I can imagine things like the firebomb and distraction grenade being game changers. Although it's generally pretty obvious when it's a distraction grenade and not a real person.
Turn off v-sync.
I like how you can play instead of a bot when you're dead.
Have my babies. I had no idea v-sync caused mouse lag. It's still a shame about the recoil though.
I think I just discovered a bug. If you throw a decoy grenade while you're sort of colliding with someone, then it sticks to them and makes a hilarious noise, and I think it might make them get stuck until the grenade blows up.

That happened with the smoke on CSS too
They should keep that in as a feature against griefers. Act like an idiot? Get frozen in place with a decoy grenade in your face shooting off fake gun sounds and blinding you with the sparks.
Also, Valve said that they are planning on opening up the beta more at some point. They just haven't said when. I also have a request in for giveaway keys when that time happens.
Is there a server browser in this or is it just match making?

No they look about the same distance as CSS view models in my opinion.
The one thing I really love about the AK47, is how they fixed it so it's ejection port is on the right side. Terrorists must be getting faces full of hot casings during CSS.

That's actually exactly what I was doing with it. Some chump kept shooting people while we're trying to run, and even though it does not team damage it still slows you down, so I kept glitching decoy grenades onto him
I'm so incredibly happy gun game is going official. 99% of my CS time is spent on gun game servers.
So I tried playing last night. Menu was nice, the music was odd but nice, tried to join a game and my computer exploded. Time to get a new computer.

Is there shell ejection depicted on the L4D2-style weapons? I think being able to leave that out is part of Valve's love for this new viewmodel style (the only non-pistol that ejects shells in their last "modern" shooter, L4D2, is the AK-47 and it actually ejects unfired cartridges for some reason).

As for how the game plays, it's pretty fun. Lots of people say it reminds them of 1.6, personally I think it reminds me of Source, so I dunno. There's this one obnoxious movement bug where you can strafe side to side and move faster than you normally could, but hopefully that will be fixed.
