More to the point, how to you feel about dead trains?
do vertical trains count?
I shall give it a go but I'm a terrible mapper and my entry WILL make your eyes bleed.
Also i have pre-exams in a week so i will probably focus on this instead of studying , oh how nice!
Add a 90 degree slope area and it should count, right?
Dead trains aren't a problem if I couldn't use them in the first place nor if they obstruct major stuff like airspace.
obviously the train will fall much better when it's done
also if someone could skin the outro train model to look like an actual london underground train that would be greatly appreciated

You might get a better fall by parenting it to a movelinear and then releasing it at the required point.
Or parent it to a func_physbox.
Just a thought.
Although, technically only the dlr would continue off the tracks. The rest are driven by humans, who are usually on strike.
Not sure if i want a second monorail car...i'd have to put another officeblock/station next to that one if i do.
If you decide to, see if you can put seats on it. I hate standing up in brush-trains and I get jerked around it, sometimes dying.
Probably not going to have any, or too many high speed turns, but ill test it thouroughly before release :)

Haven't updated my map for sometime, so here is the current plan:
Depending how prominent the trains have to be, for example; does the player have to have control over them or be able to access them. If player needs then I will make the trains go to 4 different locations, into the factory and outside of the crater. If player doesn't, then it most likely will be that I will lay out multiple tracks over the city and trains whipping by in them. Most likely have to cut stuff out as I might run out of time, after the contest I am playing with the idea of turning it into RP map.
Well I managed to get the train crash working
I used a physics prop with trigger_push. With some particle effects this'll work like a charm

Dear god, my fucking ears...
Maybe you should make that dirt bump at the end of that track as a non-solid entity, as the train does some weird bump. Perhaps you can also make it trigger some dust particles to appear?
And why hasn't blackice ended up with a train related title yet :)
