I'm sick of playing xbox on my shitty old SD TV, so I want to hook it up to my monitor, but it doesn't have any HDMI inputs. Only 1 DVI and 1 VGA. Even if I did get an HDMI adapter, there would be no audio as my monitor doesn't have any speakers. I have one of those xbox headsets that have the audio, but it doesn't work via HDMI, it uses the red/white AV cables for audio.

Even if it's through a shitload of adapters, is there a way I can hook up this xbox to my monitor?

I've seen adapters that go from the Xbox to a VGA connection and stereo audio (Red and white connections).

    For example: http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Digita...9585438&sr=8-1

yes it can, there's a bit of ghosting on the cheap cables, I'd get a monoprice one, they look high quality. While you're there, you should pick up some of their headphones too!

Xbox goes to 1080p. Even on the original Xbox. Problem is stuff won't render at 1080p usually.

How much of this can I kill off? I don't know what half of it is if I'm honest and some things I don't use can't be killed without uninstalling like the motohelper agent.

Stupid people is why, though it apparently is slightly better as far as raw theoretical performance goes.

Does AMD really need to always scan for RAID-drives when I start up my computer?

oh my that was a lot of dust on there. I hadn't previously seen it before when installing my ram and graphics card because there was a giant vent in the way

My PC is about 10cm away from a wall, could that be the problem? not much air getting in. Or has my heatsink gone to shit?

Mind you I added 4 extra gigs of RAM upgraded my card from a 260 to a 570 and doubled my power supply. Surely that must affect the temperature of my PC.

better. the one i have in my laptop runs at 70 idling. with a brand new heatsink...

so i asked this a while back but i will ask again. would you suggest the bulldozer FX 8120 3.2GHz eight core ($200) or the Intel sandy bridge i5-2500k 3.3GHz (3.7GHz turbo) quad core ($210)?

only reason i ask is because i have heard that the intel kills bulldozer architecture by any means earlier in this thread but now i have the opportunity to get an octocore which is quite a bit more for less... i have also heard some less than desirable things about the FX-8120 and it's stock heatsink...

thanks @satanix for the quick confirmation! i had a feeling that an eight core for $200 was a bit sketchy...

@goodthief i would look into a new aftermarket heatsink for that puppy... they are only like $30 and it will make your system faster afterwords

also if your case has more optional fan ports you should look into getting another fan for it too. it might get a little louder but it will keep it a lot cooler. just make sure you know the difference between an exhaust fan and an intake fan...

2500k kicks the FX8120 to pieces

    Edited:

The only reason you'd get an 8120 is if you had money to burn and wanted a processor that runs like an i3 2100 (sometimes even worse than) but reports 8 cores
